There’s a vibrant community of creators out there who make amazing things, but we’re not focusing on them right now. We’ll be looking at something else entirely.
Let’s celebrate how genuinely good Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is by diving into something a little unusual – mods for video games featuring Grogu. But we’re not talking about mods that make him fit neatly into games like Star Wars: Battlefront 2. These are fun precisely because Grogu is hilariously out of place, and the game worlds don’t make sense with him in them. These strange creations are bringing a lot of people joy, even if it’s a bit of an odd kind of enjoyment.
Be warned: the following images may be disturbing. They could cause nightmares, frightening dreams, or even feel incredibly real and terrifying while you’re trying to sleep. We’ve given you a heads-up.
Just to be clear, I’m not saying anything negative about these modifications. I really appreciate that they’ve been made, and I want to give credit to the people who created them.

Grogu, The Kung Fu Mecha Fighter (Sifu Mod)
OK, This One Ain’t Too Bad, And Grogu Looks Kind Of Sick
- Creator: Arbek
- Mod Link: Nexus Mods
- Of course, Mando also has a Sifu mod, courtesy of Mokibo.
Let’s kick things off with a fantastic mod for the game Sifu. Even though Sifu isn’t a huge game, it has a surprisingly active modding community – and it’s easy to see why! The core idea is simple: replace the main character with someone else. There are over 1000 character mods available, which is incredible. Many of the most popular choices make a lot of sense: Batman, Neo from The Matrix, Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Daredevil, Bruce Lee, and Tifa from Final Fantasy 7. But there are also some… unexpected ones, like Makoto from Persona 5, Art the Clown from Terrifier, Snow White, and Tintin.
Let’s talk about Grogu. The mod’s creator, Arbek, did a fantastic job overall. While Grogu’s small size naturally presents a challenge for a Sifu protagonist, the idea to transform his floating pram into a miniature mech is incredibly clever. Both Grogu and the pram are modeled with impressive detail and stay true to their original designs. Ultimately, this Grogu mod is more delightful than problematic, even if it’s likely something most players will eventually replace with something else.
You know what, this might not be that traumatizing.
Grogu Swallows A LEGO Brick (LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga)
You Know What, This Is Quite Traumatizing
- Creator: Scorpivan169
- Mod Link: Nexus Mods
Wow, OK, things have taken a turn.
Now that Grogu is officially in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, this mod’s impressive creation really shows how dedicated the creator is. Simply making Yoda look younger wouldn’t have been as special, though it still would have been neat.
This unusual creation resulted in something surprisingly captivating, a unique piece of internet art that sticks with you even after your first bewildered reaction. It’s essentially Grogu’s head placed on the body of a powerfully built brick figure – a combination that shouldn’t work, yet somehow does. The twist? This Grogu carries the Mandalorian on his back.
It was surprising at first, but it actually becomes quite amusing once you’re used to it. To be honest, it’s not that bad at all.
Ow! God! My Eyes! My Eyes! (Final Fantasy 7 Remake)
I Miss It… The Life I Knew Before This Mod
- Creator: Dayus99
- Mod Link: Nexus Mods
- Here is the Mando mod by the same creator
Okay, so this is weird, but awesome. A modder named Dayus99 made mods to swap Barret and Marlene in the game with Mando and Grogu from The Mandalorian. Honestly, Mando looks really good! But Grogu… well, Grogu is just different. It’s not a ‘good’ different, it’s a ‘wow, that shouldn’t exist’ kind of different, like something you’d see in a creepy pasta. It’s unsettling, but I can’t look away!
Honestly, I’m not sure it’s even possible to realistically put Grogu into Final Fantasy 7 Remake without him looking completely out of place. And even if they could, would it really be an improvement? It might be easier to look at, but then we’d miss out on the wonderfully strange experience of hearing Marlene’s lines delivered by a sun-baked version of Grogu.
