Destiny 2 is Coming to PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue With a Catch

As a Destiny 2 fan, I’m really excited that a bunch of the game’s expansions and DLC are hitting PlayStation Plus on June 9th! There’s a little bit of a catch though – it’s only for Extra and Deluxe subscribers, and it won’t include the very newest stuff like Renegades and The Edge of Fate. Still, it’s a ton of content to jump into!

Instead, Sony is adding the complete Destiny 2 experience up to the latest expansion, The Final Shape, to the service. This collection includes the original game, as well as all previously released expansions like Forsaken, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen, plus all associated content and Nightfall activities.

This service covers everything from the start of Destiny 2’s 10-year story arc, the Light and Dark Saga, through the final battle against The Witness. Players invested a huge amount of time getting ready for and ultimately defeating it.

This bundle gives you access to three dungeons – Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne, and Grasp of Avarice. These dungeons used to cost extra money to unlock, but Bungie is now including them for free with the Final Shape expansion.

The Destiny 2: Legacy Collection offers a lot of content, but it’s not the full experience. It includes the Edge of Fate and Renegades expansions, and it seems PlayStation intends for players to purchase these separately after trying the collection.

On June 9th, Destiny 2 will receive a major update – often called the “Final Update” – that significantly changes how the game works. This update aims to make all previously released content playable and relevant, and it will also be the last major content addition to the game.

Sony is probably trying to attract as many players as possible right now to maximize profits while the game is still popular.
