Dragon Ball Super Finally Has a Villain Stronger Than the Gods

Fans have been waiting eight years since the end of the Dragon Ball Super anime, and a new series was just announced at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event. Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will bring Toyotarou’s Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga to life. The story begins right after the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, with Goku and Vegeta joining the Galactic Patrol when their most dangerous prisoner escapes and travels to Namek in search of the Dragon Balls.

Moro, known as the Planet-Eater, is one of the strongest villains in all of Dragon Ball, even more powerful than Jiren and Broly at their peak. He gains strength by literally consuming entire planets and the life energy within them. By the end of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Moro becomes a genuine threat even to the Gods themselves. While Jiren posed a God of Destruction-level challenge during the Tournament of Power, Moro surpasses him, presenting Goku and Vegeta with their toughest battle yet – an enemy stronger than any they’ve faced before.

Moro is the Toughest Enemy Goku Has Ever Faced

Following his victory over Moro Seven-Three in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 65, Goku attempts to show mercy by offering Moro a Senzu Bean. He tells Moro he’s never faced an opponent as powerful, which is significant considering Goku recently battled Jiren and Broly. Jiren was stronger than a God of Destruction, and Broly required Goku to fuse into Gogeta – a transformation even more powerful than Beerus – to be defeated.

As a Dragon Ball fan, it’s incredible to think that Moro in his Seven-Three form was already surpassing multiple Gods! It’s wild to consider Goku was using Beerus’ power level as a measuring stick, meaning Moro was stronger than what Beerus showed in Battle of the Gods. But then, even after eating a Senzu Bean and refusing to cooperate with the Galactic Patrol, Moro got a massive power-up by absorbing all of Merus’ abilities! He basically became part-Angel, going from barely being able to land a hit on Goku to fighting him evenly, even when Goku was using Perfected Ultra Instinct! Honestly, even Goku was shocked by just how fast and powerful Angel Moro had become – it was a truly insane power boost!

Moro is the Only Villain in Dragon Ball Who Can Use Ultra Instinct

After gaining Meru’s abilities, Moro becomes the first villain in Dragon Ball Super to master Ultra Instinct. While Goku’s perfected Ultra Instinct is powerful enough to initially defend against Moro, Moro learns to use the technique much faster than Goku did in the Tournament of Power. This causes Goku to lose confidence as his attacks aren’t effective enough to defeat Moro. At this point, Moro with Ultra Instinct is arguably stronger than many Gods.

Moro’s body couldn’t cope with the immense power of Merus’ Angelic energy, and it began to reject the God Ki he’d absorbed. To stay alive, Moro merged with the Earth itself, draining the life force of everything on the planet. This caused his power to increase incredibly quickly, surpassing even Goku’s Perfected Ultra Instinct form. Ultimately, Goku narrowly defeated Moro with a final attack boosted by both Vegeta’s Forced Spirit Fission technique and a huge energy donation from Uub. Without Uub’s help, even Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku wouldn’t have been able to win.

Dragon Ball Super’s Villains Will Only Keep Getting Stronger

Everyone is expecting a huge reaction online when Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is released, but that’s just the beginning. The villains in Dragon Ball Super are going to keep getting stronger and stronger. During the Granolah the Survivor Saga, both Granolah and Gas will become the strongest fighters in Universe 7, but they’ll eventually be surpassed by Black Frieza, who remains the most powerful mortal in Dragon Ball Super.

The new character Cell Max from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is hinted to be even more powerful than Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms. If the upcoming Dragon Ball Super 2 includes the Super Hero storyline, we can expect to see Gohan’s Beast form at its peak and Broly finally control his immense power. With luck, the series will also adapt the Black Frieza saga by late 2027 or early 2028, potentially introducing a villain on par with Beerus.
