Ethereum or Solana? American Basketball Star Stirs Up Crypto Debate

As a seasoned crypto investor and basketball enthusiast, I’m always intrigued by the intersection of sports and technology, especially when it comes to cryptocurrencies and the celebrities who back them. Scottie Pippen, one of the greatest small forwards in NBA history, recently asked his followers on social media which crypto he should invest in: Ethereum or Solana.

Scottie Pippen, a renowned basketball player from America and regarded as one of the best small forwards in NBA history, has recently expressed growing curiosity towards cryptocurrencies.

In a social media post, Pippen asked his followers whether he should pick Ethereum or Solana.

Mert Mumtz, the CEO of Helius, acknowledged that both cryptocurrencies possess distinct advantages in response to the previous query. Unsurprisingly, some users eagerly shared their preferred coins during the ensuing discussion with Pippen.

Six-time NBA champion Pippen has previously expressed curiosity about the crypto world. He recently teamed up with Web3 company Orange Comet to introduce his unique line of non-fungible tokens.

The Olympic champion took to Twitter in a humbled tone after his NFT collection sold out astonishingly within just two minutes, surpassing the previous record set by renowned actor Anthony Hopkins’ collection which took seven minutes to sell out.

Besides his impressive achievements and his habit of not leaving large tips at restaurants, Pippen is also well-known for his longstanding feud with Michael Jordan. Last year, during an interview on a podcast, Pippen drew attention when he labeled Jordan as having poor basketball skills.

Jordan has ventured into the crypto sphere as well. In the year 2021, he introduced HEIR, a Web3 fan engagement platform built on Solana. In 2022, this platform unveiled its inaugural NFT collection named “6 Rings.” The Bulls’ impressive six NBA titles during Jordan’s leadership in the 1990s served as the inspiration behind this collection.
