As you progress through the levels of Vampire Crawlers, you’ll face many bosses, but some are hidden. The Drowner is a secret boss that appears if you finish your turn without playing any weapon cards. However, unlike The Trickster, you don’t need to defeat The Drowner to complete the game.
Okay, so I was totally stuck trying to get the Uncrackable gem and achievement! It turns out you need to find and defeat The Trickster, but the game gives you zero clues on how to actually make him show up. This guide is exactly what I needed – it tells you step-by-step how to get The Trickster to spawn in Vampire Crawlers. It’s a lifesaver!
How to Encounter The Trickster in Vampire Crawlers
Vampire Crawlers: Cracked Cards, Explained
In Vampire Crawlers, building high combos is the key to boosting your stats. The higher your combo, the more damage your weapon cards will inflict and the more powerful your item card effects will become.
Some cards, like the Attractorb and Bracer, let players create repeating card sequences for powerful, endless combos. To prevent this from happening too often, cards will start to show wear and tear each time they’re retrieved from the discard pile and reused. If a card is played four times in a single turn, it will break and be removed from your deck permanently, and The Trickster, a purple reaper character, will appear.

How to Unlock the Uncrackable Gem in Vampire Crawlers
To obtain the Uncrackable gem in Vampire Crawlers, players must summon and defeat The Trickster. If you don’t want to repeatedly fight this enemy, end your turn as soon as it appears. Continuing to play cards will cause more challenging purple reapers to spawn.
The Trickster does 30 damage, meaning players need solid armor to survive. While this boss fight is challenging, you don’t need to worry about a distracting eye attack. Focus on playing your cards and building powerful combos to become stronger, but be careful not to disrupt your strategy.
The Uncrackable gem makes cards retrieved from the Discard Pile more durable, reducing the chance they’ll break when played.
