In the world of Shonen anime, few series focus on the idea of ‘the strongest‘ as much as Jujutsu Kaisen. Right from the start, Gojo was presented as the most powerful character, and this wasn’t just about his abilities – it was a key part of his story.

Since then, fans have identified four sorcerers as being exceptionally powerful – they’ve nicknamed them ‘Calamity Grade’. Besides Mahoraga and one other, no sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen can compare to the strongest of each generation, particularly when those sorcerers use their most powerful techniques.

Sukuna Is Known As The Strongest Sorcerer Ever

Age: Heian Era/Modern Day

Within the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Ryomen Sukuna, known as the King of Curses, is the only character officially recognized as the strongest ever. During the Heian Era, a time filled with incredibly powerful Cursed Spirits and sorcerers, Sukuna reigned supreme, becoming unmatched in strength.

Wow, so after being reborn in the present day, this guy ended up battling Satoru Gojo – you know, the absolute strongest sorcerer around right now! It was an incredibly close fight, they were pretty evenly matched overall, but ultimately, his incredible skill and understanding of jujutsu just gave him the edge. He managed to defeat Gojo in a final, desperate move, and that’s how he became known as the strongest sorcerer ever – it’s an amazing story!

Strongest Attack: The World-Cutting Slash

As the fight with Gojo neared its end and Gojo appeared to be winning, Sukuna cleverly adapted his cursed technique to become even more powerful. Instead of directly attacking Gojo, Sukuna began targeting the space around him, effectively cutting anything within that area. This was the only way to overcome Gojo’s seemingly impenetrable defense, Infinity. Although Malevolent Shrine is a strong ability, none of its attacks were as devastating as this new, space-cutting technique.

Satoru Gojo’s Birth Changed The Balance Of The World

Age: Modern Day

Even though Satoru Gojo isn’t the main character in Jujutsu Kaisen, he’s become the most recognizable face of the series. Born with a rare combination of abilities – the Six Eyes and Limitless – Gojo was incredibly powerful from the start. In fact, his birth was so significant that it triggered the emergence of stronger monsters as a way to maintain balance in the world.

Throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Gojo consistently demonstrates incredibly powerful and unique abilities that far surpass those of even very strong characters like Yuta and Kenjaku. He pushed Sukuna to his absolute limit during their battle, and at times, seemed to have the upper hand. Although he ultimately died, Gojo proved he was a match for the strongest sorcerer alive.

Strongest Attack: Hollow Purple

While Gojo’s Domain Expansion is incredibly effective at immobilizing enemies, his Hollow Purple attack is arguably his most devastating. It combines two forces – an infinite pull and an infinite push – creating an overwhelming, virtual mass. This allows Gojo to obliterate anything caught within its range, making it one of the strongest attacks in the series.

Dabura Karaba Is The Strongest Simurian

Age: Modulo Era

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo takes place about 80 years after the original story, and explores what happens when humanity encounters aliens called Simurians. The most powerful of these aliens is a massive being named Dabura Karaba, who is considered a threat on the same scale as Ryomen Sukuna.

Dabura was initially presented as an incredibly strong fighter, and he finally demonstrated his full power during his fight with Mahoraga. Thanks to his ability to control light with his Cursed Technique and his exceptional jujutsu skills, Dabura was a formidable opponent, rivaled only by the likes of Gojo or Sukuna.

Strongest Attack: Lightspeed Kick

Dabura’s Cursed Technique lets him control light, and also grants him incredible speed – potentially approaching the speed of light. As he moves faster, he gains more and more mass. He demonstrated this power by delivering a kick so fast it obliterated a large section of the city, making the attack as devastating as the strongest techniques used by Gojo and Sukuna.

Yuji Itadori’s Strength May Be the Greatest Of Them All

Age: Modulo Era

Because Yuji doesn’t appear often in Modulo, it’s hard for viewers to accurately judge just how strong he’s become during that time. However, as a Death Painting infused with Sukuna’s cursed energy and techniques, Yuji has actually had more opportunity to develop his abilities than Sukuna himself.

Watching Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s hard not to think Yuji might actually be the strongest sorcerer we’ve seen. He’s got access to everything Sukuna could do, plus a huge amount of cursed energy, and on top of that, his own abilities like Blood Manipulation. Considering he’s been developing his powers for eighty years now, it feels right to put him ahead of even someone as powerful as Sukuna, Gojo, or Dabura.

Strongest Attack: Ultimate Dismantle

Yuji isn’t often seen using his full power, especially in fights, so it’s hard to say what his strongest attack truly is. While his techniques like Shrine and Piercing Blood demonstrate incredible skill, his most powerful display of force came with a massive Dismantle attack. This attack was devastating, killing numerous strong curses and even splitting buildings in half, leading many to believe it might have been a World-Cutting Slash.
