Zero Gravity Can Send Enemies Floating Away or Create Death From Above
User: Ochaco Uraraka
Ochaco Uraraka’s Zero Gravity Quirk isn’t the most powerful ability in My Hero Academia, but it’s incredibly versatile. Similar to her friend Deku, Ochaco worked hard to improve her Quirk and find new ways to use it. Through dedicated training, she became skilled at launching aerial attacks using Zero Gravity.
Ochaco can defeat enemies by dropping heavy objects on them, either to immobilize them or slow their movement. This is especially effective when Tsuyu Asui helps by launching the weightless objects into the air for better positioning. Himiko also discovered that Ochaco’s Zero Gravity ability can be fatal – by sending someone soaring upwards and then suddenly bringing gravity back, causing a devastating fall.
Comic Does Whatever the User Says Out Loud
User: Manga Fukidashi
The students of UA’s class 1-B often get overlooked because class 1-A is usually the one involved in major conflicts and receives more attention. However, characters like Manga Fukidashi, also known as Comicman, demonstrate their abilities with creative uses of their Quirks. Manga’s Quirk allows him to vocalize and materialize any sound effect, making it incredibly adaptable and powerful.
In Season 5 of My Hero Academia, Manga showed off his abilities during the joint training exercise against Momo Yaoyorozu’s team. His Quirk is a great example of how thinking creatively and adapting quickly can be really powerful. This makes him a strong support fighter, and leaders like Itsuka Kendo are skilled at utilizing his strengths in battle.
Softening Can Cushion a Hard Landing or Slow Down the Enemy
User: Juzo Honenuki
Juzo Honenuki, a student in Class 1-B also known as Mudman, has a Quirk that dramatically changes the properties of anything he touches. His Quirk, called Softening, lets him make objects—even large ones—soft and pliable. He often uses this to hinder fast-moving opponents like Tenya Iida, and it can also reduce the force of impacts when things land.
Juzo didn’t use his Quirk, Softening, very often in My Hero Academia, but when he did, it was incredibly effective. It put significant strain on both Tenya and even Shoto Todoroki, and famously turned Shoto’s ice into a flexible, rubbery substance. This ability was a key factor in allowing Juzo’s team to achieve a tie with the strong Class 1-A team.
Compress is Used to Capture or Evacuate People With Ease
User: Mr. Compress
The villains in My Hero Academia aren’t always powerful attackers. Some, like Mr. Compress, use their Quirks in clever, non-aggressive ways. Instead of directly fighting, Mr. Compress uses his ability to compress people and objects into harmless marbles, mainly to deceive heroes or shield his teammates. He bends reality to achieve this, but without causing real harm.
I saw how Mr. Compress’s Quirk was used to capture Bakugo, and it was pretty clever. He didn’t just capture him though; he’d suddenly make huge things expand, catching heroes and the police completely off guard. It seemed like, theoretically, he could move a whole group of villains anywhere and set up a surprise attack.
Meatball Works Best With Ambushes or Tight Teamwork
User: Seiji Shishikura
Seiji Shishikura’s Quirk, Meatball, transforms people into helpless spheres, but doesn’t affect objects. Despite this limitation, it’s considered one of the most powerful reality-altering Quirks in the anime. We’ve seen in the provisional hero license exam that Seiji can use Meatball to easily incapacitate many opponents, like dozens of students during the exam.
Seiji has a calming effect on people, even those with strong personalities like Katsuki Bakugo, thanks to his ability, ‘Meatball.’ But if he gets hit, he loses control of his power, meaning he really needs someone to protect him. During the exam, Seiji insisted on fighting alone, which ultimately led to his defeat – something many expected.
Creation is Limited Only By the User’s Imagination and Technical Know-How
User: Momo Yaoyorozu
Momo Yaoyorozu is the brightest student in Class 1-A, and her intelligence perfectly complements her Creation Quirk. This Quirk is incredibly flexible, allowing her to create almost anything she needs, making it one of the most versatile abilities in My Hero Academia. She’s known for making a wide range of non-living objects, like trackers, clothes, and even stereos.

Momo creates things out of nothing, essentially changing reality by adding to it. While she needs some fat reserves and understanding of an object to create it, she can easily get the necessary energy from food, and her incredible intelligence covers the technical side. Momo excels as a support hero, a role she quickly mastered and performs exceptionally well.
Erasure is a Meta-Quirk Ideal For Simplifying Battle
User: Eraser Head
The Erasure Quirk isn’t powerful enough to win a fight by itself, and it can’t be used to directly capture opponents. It needs to be combined with other techniques, and Eraserhead has perfected that combination. He uses Erasure to temporarily disable an enemy’s Quirk, then quickly uses his capture gear and skills to hold them until backup arrives.
Erasure is a uniquely self-aware Quirk, as it focuses on disabling other Quirks themselves. Very few characters—mostly those with naturally changing bodies—can overcome its effects, with the Quirkless hero Knuckleduster being a notable exception. Later in the My Hero Academia series, Erasure played a crucial role in limiting Tomura Shigaraki’s abilities, giving Bakugo’s team a better chance in battle.
Rewind is the Ultimate Healing Quirk
User: Eri
Eri’s Quirk, Rewind, is considered dangerous in My Hero Academia because she’s still a child and hasn’t learned to control it, unlike the trained students and heroes. Despite this, Rewind is incredibly powerful – it can essentially reverse a person or object to a previous state.
Rewind is clearly a powerful healing ability, even stronger than Recovery Girl’s. But it can do more than just heal injuries – it can even restore lost Quirks, as seen when it brought Mirio’s Permeation back. During his battle with Overhaul, Deku was also healed by Eri using Rewind, which allowed him to overcome a seemingly unbeatable opponent, though it put her in danger.
Overhaul Reshapes Matter on Both Offense and Defense
User: Overhaul
Overhaul’s Quirk, also called Overhaul, lets him manipulate any material at will. He can use it to heal injuries, destroy opponents, or even completely change the environment around him. This incredible power is what makes him one of the most dangerous villains in My Hero Academia, even alongside powerful figures like Tomura and All For One.
This is an incredibly powerful reality-altering ability, and it’s what allowed Overhaul to become the dominant force in the Shie Hassaikai Arc of My Hero Academia‘s fourth season. Its strength is remarkable—even Mirio couldn’t defeat it. Interestingly, All For One took Overhaul’s Quirk, isolating the ability to break things down, and used it to create the Decay Quirk for a young Tenko Shimura.
New Order is the Top Quirk Among American Pro Heroes
User: Star and Stripe
Star and Stripe’s Quirk, New Order, is arguably the strongest and most remarkable ability in My Hero Academia. Essentially, she can declare a new characteristic for anything – a person, an object, anything at all – and it instantly becomes true. This power is incredibly impressive, almost like she’s rewriting reality itself, and consistently produces amazing results.
Star and Stripe became the top hero in America by exceeding the power of Captain Celebrity, a hero similar to Superman. Even the villain All For One recognized the incredible potential of Star and Stripe’s New Order Quirk. Had Tomura Shigaraki not been struggling with his connection to All For One, Star and Stripe would have easily defeated him, regardless of how many Quirks he possessed.
