I’m so excited about this! Shobido, the awesome Japanese company behind tons of cool makeup and character stuff, just dropped a My Hero Academiathemed emergency kit, and it’s seriously clever. It’s a fully-stocked backpack designed to help you out in a disaster, but what I love is that they thought about comfort too! Everything is themed around the characters and their Quirks from My Hero Academia*, hoping to bring a little bit of calm to a scary situation. It’s not just practical, it’s a thoughtful way to connect with the series even when things are tough.
My Hero Academia remains incredibly popular worldwide. The manga by Kohei Horikoshi has sold over 100 million copies, and the anime recently earned a Guinness World Record as the most sought-after animated TV show. While the manga finished its run in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2024 and the anime concluded with a special episode on May 2, 2026, fans are still eager for more. New merchandise and collaborations are constantly released, and a recent, though expensive, collection of items could even be useful in an emergency.
The My Hero Academia Emergency Backpack Set Will Give You the Preparedness Quirk
Fans of My Hero Academia can now pre-order a special Emergency Backpack Set designed to help them prepare for disasters. Created with guidance from disaster preparedness experts, the kit includes 16 useful items inspired by the show’s characters. It’s not just about practical tools like a multi-tool, emergency blanket, whistle, and portable toilet – the set also includes cosplay items to provide comfort and inspiration during stressful times. Each item comes with instructions themed to its corresponding character. Pre-orders are open on the Shobido Online Store until May 21st, and the backpack costs ¥26,180 (approximately $168). Shipping will start in late September.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the series, a variety of special events are planned, and a new My Hero Academia anime episode is scheduled for release in Summer 2026. The episode, titled “I Am a Hero Too,” will be a significant addition to the story, as it features a brand new, original narrative penned by the series creator, Kohei Horikoshi. It’s based on a chapter from My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book and depicts an older Eri returning to U.A. High School.
US fans of My Hero Academia have a lot to look forward to with a major concert tour planned for late 2026! The tour will visit 30 cities across the country from September 12th to October 23rd, and will feature a 15-member live band performing music from the entire series. Expect a trip down memory lane with iconic scenes displayed on a large screen – it might even bring a tear to the eye of dedicated fans! Tickets are available now on the official event website.
