Naruto: 6 Strongest Iwagakure Shinobi, Ranked

While Konoha is famous for shinobi like those from the Uchiha and Senju clans, it’s not the only village with powerful warriors. The other villages may not have as many strong ninja, but they do have skilled fighters who can compete with Konoha’s best. Each village also has its own unique fighting techniques.

Iwagakure, or the Hidden Stone Village, is a powerful and well-respected ninja nation. Located in the Land of Earth, its warriors are naturally skilled in Earth Release techniques, which form the core of their fighting style. Unlike many other ninja villages that prioritize speed and secrecy, Iwa ninjas focus on building incredible stamina, physical strength, and unwavering determination.

Kurotsuchi, the Fourth Tsuchikage

Kurotsuchi, the granddaughter of Onoki, eventually became the Tsuchikage, demonstrating her skill exceeded that of her contemporaries. Though she didn’t learn the Particle Style, she became incredibly proficient in the Lava Release Kekkei Genkai. She focused specifically on a quicklime version of Lava Release, which allowed her to trap opponents in a rapidly hardening, corrosive cement.

Kurotsuchi is a highly skilled ninja, and she’s not limited to just lava-based attacks. She’s also proficient in water, fire, and earth techniques. Her earth technique allows her to create a remarkably strong dome capable of withstanding several tons of pressure. As shown in Boruto, she truly deserves her reputation, successfully defending against incredibly powerful Otsutsuki threats while fighting alongside the Sixth Mizukage.

Roshi, the Four-Tails Jinchuriki

Roshi is a determined ninja who left his village, Iwagakure, to learn more about the immense power of the Four-Tails, Son Goku. Even without Son Goku’s help, he’s a very strong fighter. Roshi specializes in Lava Release techniques, mainly controlling molten lava. He can launch streams of hot rocks and even create armor made of lava. This armor not only protects him but also enhances his hand-to-hand combat, letting him burn opponents even while they’re blocking.

It’s unclear how well he could control the power of the Four-Tails while acting as its Jinchuriki. However, he demonstrated the ability to release Son Goku and create a Tailed Beast Ball. His strength forced Kisame to fight with everything he had, and even Kisame’s sword, Samehada, was damaged during their battle.

Han, the Five-Tails Jinchuriki

Similar to other ninja villages besides Konoha, Iwagakure received two powerful Tailed Beasts to build alliances and maintain a balance of power. Their second Tailed Beast is Kokuo, the Five-Tails, which is sealed within Han, a skilled ninja known for his actions during the Third Great Shinobi War.

Iwagakure is famous for its Earth Release techniques, but Han stands out because he’s skilled in Steam Release – and that’s what he’s known for. However, Han doesn’t use Steam Release as a primary attack; instead, it enhances his taijutsu, making his physical strikes incredibly powerful. He demonstrated this during the Fourth Great Shinobi War when he was able to send even Naruto, in his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, flying with a single blow.

Deidara, the Terrorist Bomber

Deidara left his home village, Iwagakure, hoping to master his art. After losing a battle with Itachi, he was compelled to join the Akatsuki, becoming their youngest member. At first, he worked alongside Sasori until Sasori was defeated by Chiyo.

Deidara is a master of explosive techniques, particularly using a special clay he can shape into anything. He detonates these clay creations remotely to eliminate opponents. His most powerful attack, which he considers his masterpiece, involves turning his entire body into a giant bomb. Even without using that ultimate move, he was strong enough to defeat a young Gaara all by himself and hold his own against a young Sasuke.

Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage

Even near the end of his career as Tsuchikage during the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Onoki was incredibly powerful. Some would say he single-handedly carried the entire Kage team at times, meaning he was much, much stronger in his younger days.

He’s incredibly rare – one of only two people who have ever learned Dust Release, a powerful ability created by combining fire, earth, and wind techniques. With Dust Release, Onoki can turn anything to dust, and it’s not just small objects; he’s capable of destroying entire islands or forests. However, as he aged, he developed severe back problems that hindered his ability to move and fight effectively.

Mu, the Second Tsuchikage

Within the Hidden Stone Village, the only ninja considered more powerful than Onoki is his former teacher, the Second Tsuchikage. Mu not only taught Onoki the Dust Release technique, but he also has greater control over it. Beyond that, Mu’s abilities extend far beyond just Dust Release.

Mu is known as “Null-Man” because he can completely conceal himself, making both his body and energy undetectable. He’s also able to use Earth Release to become light enough to fly. But his greatest skill as a hidden warrior is splitting into two identical copies. Though each copy is only half as powerful as the original, it makes him incredibly hard to defeat.
