How Spacecraft Handles The Key Elements of Minecraft and Starfield
SpaceCraft offers players everything they’d expect from a blend of Minecraft and Starfield, including conversations with choices, ship building, base construction, and resource collection. Though it’s unknown if there will be ground-based combat, the game seems to deliver on fans’ most desired features. Players can explore new planets, scan for and mine materials with different tools, and use those resources to craft and design their ideal spaceship. The game focuses on gathering resources to build both a base and a fully customizable ship.

One of the most popular features of Starfield was building spaceships, and players quickly shared their creations online, inspired by shows like Star Wars, Star Trek, and Futurama. Just like those designs, Starfield’s ship building could foster a community focused on creating and showing off amazing ships. Importantly, actually flying those ships should be just as fun. While the game has a fast travel system similar to No Man’s Sky or Starfield’s galactic map, it also features real-time space travel, allowing players to smoothly transition from inside a planet’s atmosphere to the open space of an asteroid field, and then on to a new planet.
Traveling between planets will be enjoyable, and you can even find and explore derelict spaceships. Like in Minecraft, building a base is a key part of the game, but this system is more complex. Players who enjoy automation games will be excited to create completely automated resource centers using conveyor belts, drones, and cargo ships. Managing power and resources across planets will require careful planning, adding a strategic challenge to base building.
Spacecraft’s Social Elements Set It Apart
What really has me excited about SpaceCraft is how they’re doing multiplayer. It sounds like New World – remember that MMO Amazon tried? – where everything players buy and sell actually changes the in-game economy. But it goes a step further! We won’t just be trading resources; we can sell the designs for our ships! If I build something awesome, I can actually sell the blueprint to someone else. I think that’s a super cool idea, and it’s going to be fascinating to see how the player base decides what’s worth a lot and what isn’t – watching that economy evolve is going to be a blast.
In SpaceCraft, players can form groups called Corporations, which function like clans. Leaders within these Corporations can assign roles and tasks to members on different planets, enabling collaborative empire-building and influence over the game’s economy. The Corporation system, along with other features, will be expanded during the early access phase, with developers planning to add more social elements over the next six months or more.
