Popular streamer Ninja is stepping away from Twitch for a while because of problems with the game ARC Raiders. He’s been particularly frustrated by players who are cheating in the game, which is made by Embark Studios.
Tyler Blevins, better known as Ninja, has been a popular online streamer since he began in 2011. He initially streamed many different games, but gained massive success as a top creator for Fortnite, helping to fuel its popularity. More recently, Ninja became a prominent streamer of ARC Raiders after its 2025 release. However, problems with ARC Raiders have led him to think about taking a break, not just from the game, but from streaming altogether.
Ninja’s New Streaming Break is Thanks to ARC Raiders Cheaters
Popular streamer Ninja recently expressed his frustration with cheaters in the game ARC Raiders, explaining that they were a major reason he’s taking a break from streaming it. He said the cheating and ‘stream sniping’ made the game nearly impossible to play. While he’s stepping back from ARC Raiders, Ninja will still stream League of Legends, though his schedule might be less regular. He hasn’t said how long he’ll be away, as he hasn’t found another game that currently excites him enough to stream consistently.
Popular streamer Ninja has stopped playing ARC Raiders due to ongoing problems with cheaters. The game’s developer, Embark Studios, has been actively banning cheaters, but the issue persists. They’ve even changed how Steam’s Family Sharing works so that a ban on one account affects everyone on the same plan. Ninja’s decision follows similar concerns from other prominent streamers like TheBurntPeanut, who previously expressed frustration with cheating and considered leaving the game.
The huge success of ARC Raiders has significantly contributed to the growing popularity of extraction shooter games. Taeseok Jang, head of PUBG Studios, thinks this genre could become even more popular than battle royales, and his studio is already making an extraction shooter based on PUBG. Now, Epic Games – the creators of Fortnite – might be joining the trend, reportedly developing their own extraction shooter featuring Disney characters.

Despite the challenges facing ARC Raiders, Embark Studios is actively updating the game. On April 8th, they released a new update with various small improvements, following the larger Flashpoint update in March. Flashpoint introduced new elements like the Vaporizer enemy and the Close Scrutiny map condition. Players hope Embark Studios will also prioritize fixing the game’s cheating issues, as several streamers, including Ninja, have stopped playing due to them.
