Clarke teamed up with publisher DreadXP, and together they collaborated with Paramount to create a game based on the Paranormal Activity movies. Brian Clarke announced on social media that Paranormal Activity: Threshold has been canceled, and he made the decision to halt its release. He explained that the game needed more development to meet his standards, and he, along with DarkStone Digital and DreadXP, asked Paramount for more time. Unfortunately, Paramount declined to extend the development period. This left Clarke with a difficult choice: finish the game quickly in its current state or cancel it altogether. He chose to cancel, apologizing to fans but expressing gratitude to Paramount for the opportunity. Clarke also stated that he and DreadXP have parted ways with Paramount on good terms and he’s excited to work on new horror projects in the future.
