Pokemon GO Reveals Raid Day Schedule for May 2026

Niantic, the company behind Pokemon GO, has announced special Raid Day events happening in May. With the game’s 10th anniversary coming up in July, Niantic is hinting at big plans to celebrate. Over the past ten years, Pokemon GO has become a key part of the Pokemon world, both attracting new players and bringing back those who haven’t played in a while.

As May approaches, Pokemon GO is gearing up for a busy month! There will be two Community Day events: one featuring Lechonk on May 9th, and a returning Community Day Classic on May 16th. Niantic hasn’t yet announced which Pokemon will be featured in the Classic event.

Pokemon GO May Raid Day Schedule

  • May 2- Entei Shadow Raid Day from 2 to 5 PM local time
  • May 23- Mega Raid Day

May brings two special Raid Day events to Pokemon GO. On May 2nd, players can participate in a Shadow Raid Day featuring Entei, a powerful Legendary Pokemon originally from the Johto region. This is a great chance to catch Entei, especially for those who haven’t completed the Entei encounter offered with the April GO Pass. Shiny Entei will be more common during the event, and players can complete up to 20 Remote Raids. From May 6th to June 2nd, Shadow Cresselia will also appear in Shadow Raids.

Details for the Pokémon GO Mega Raid Day on May 23rd are still upcoming. However, Mega Camerupt, Mega Glalie, Mega Altaria, and Mega Medicham will each be featured in Mega Raids for one week at a time. In addition, Five-Star Raids will include Pokémon from the Alola region, specifically Nihilego, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini, which will be available worldwide. From May 13th to 19th, Five-Star Raids will be region-specific: Buzzwole will appear in the Americas and Greenland, Pheromosa in Europe, the Middle East, and India, and Xurkitree in the Asia-Pacific region.

Beyond our regular May activities, we’re excited to announce the start of Pokemon GO Fest 2026! The first in-person event kicks off next month in Tokyo, followed by events in Chicago and Copenhagen in June. If you can’t make it to these locations, don’t worry – a global event will be held in July, letting everyone join the fun. While details are still limited, Pokemon GO Fest 2026 will heavily feature the Pokemon Mewtwo.

Okay, so everyone’s buzzing about the possibility of Mega Mewtwo X and Y finally hitting Pokemon GO at GO Fest 2026! We’ve had Mega Evolutions in the game for a while now, but Mega Mewtwo has always been held back, only appearing in the core Pokemon games. It looks like that might be about to change, but we’ll have to be patient and see what Niantic announces. Fingers crossed!
