Pokemon TCG Pocket is simplifying how players earn cards and rewards. The game developers are removing Dex Missions and Emblem Tickets, likely before the end of April. They’ll be replaced with a new, easier way to collect Emblems.
It’s been several months since DeNA’s development team significantly updated the way cards are collected in Pokemon TCG Pocket. While the game receives regular updates – including monthly events like Step-Up battles and Wonder Pick Events, and new card sets such as the Mega Shine expansion released in late March – the core gameplay hasn’t changed much. The last major addition was the Share feature, which launched in early November 2025.

A significant update is coming around the end of April regarding Emblems – digital badges players can display on their profiles to showcase their accomplishments in the game. Currently, players can earn Emblems featuring specific Pokémon by completing themed challenges called Dex Missions in Pokémon TCG Pocket. These missions reward players with tickets that can be exchanged for Emblems in the in-game shop. However, with the release of the next expansion on April 28th, these missions and the tickets they offer will be removed, meaning players won’t be able to use any tickets they’ve already earned.
The game is making it easier to earn collectible emblems. Previously, players had to visit the in-game shop to select emblems. Now, emblems for each new set will automatically unlock once you’ve collected a certain number of cards from that set – usually between 50 and 150. This change will also apply to players who’ve already earned enough cards. Plus, special cover art and backgrounds that currently cost emblem tickets will now be awarded automatically after collecting at least 40 cards from each set.
Players are a bit confused after the latest update from the game developers. Specifically, they’re unsure if the recent changes will impact how to get Secret Emblems from Pokemon TCG Pocket. Since these badges are usually found in themed collections rather than through Dex Missions, many believe they won’t be affected. Also, the announcement mentioned “new animations” when adding cards to the Card Dex, but it’s unclear if these animations will be for the Dex interface itself or the cards themselves, leaving players wanting more details.

The next update doesn’t seem to be making major changes. It mainly simplifies how players get new Emblems and profile cosmetics in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Players who collect Emblems will still open packs, but claiming their rewards will be a bit quicker and easier.
