Resident Evil Movie Shares New Posters and Behind The Scenes Look

Weapons and Barbarian director Zach Cregger has shared a new behind the scenes look at his upcoming Resident Evil movie, based on the survival horror video games by Capcom. In addition to the new footage, two posters were also shared for the upcoming movie – one of which features a sneaky Umbrella Corp. reference.

Cregger shared his thought process and vision for his upcoming Resident Evil movie in a new one-minute behind the scenes video. We don’t get much new footage in it apart from a short clip in which the main character (played by Austin Abrams) attempts to shoot a lock off a door and misses the shot by a few inches. This pretty much evokes the same feeling of playing the games as players can definitely relate to missing shots like these.

Cregger stated that he wanted to evoke those same feelings of playing the Resident Evil games by setting the right atmosphere and tone in his movie, complete with shots (such as a first-person perspective) that seem ripped straight out of the game source material.

Sony Pictures also shared two new posters for the Resident Evil movie. One features Abrams’ character walking through a snowy Raccoon City towards a large building (which seems pretty important) while the other shows a top-down view of a car stopping in front of a strange figure that casts a monstrous shadow behind them. This poster also includes the Umbrella logo subtly shaped by the car’s headlights and brake lights.

In related news, data recently revealed that Resident Evil Requiem, the latest game in the series, managed to top the best-selling games of 2026 so far, followed closely behind by Crimson Desert.
