A common Water/Flying-type Pokémon resembling a winged fish is reportedly appearing in the upcoming Generation 10 region, according to BallGuy. The image currently circulating isn’t of the new Pokémon itself, but a design similar to one from Pokémon Gold and Silver. A comparable concept was also considered for the original Kanto region. Previous Pokémon games have often revisited older, unused designs – examples include Shellos and Gastrodon, Hydeigon, Tirtouga, and the Ultra Beasts. Fans have playfully nicknamed this Pokémon the “Both” Pokémon because it combines elements of flight and wings with the water and fish themes.
It’s unclear when fans will get more details, and they might have to wait a while. While Pokemon Winds and Waves is scheduled for 2027, and could potentially be announced alongside the new Nintendo Switch 2 if it launches early in the year, one insider, BallGuy, believes we won’t hear anything more this year. Though plans can always change in the gaming world, this suggests Pokemon Winds and Waves might actually be released later in 2027.
The way Pokémon games are marketed hasn’t really evolved recently, despite leaks happening frequently before new releases. For the last few game generations, the main Legendary Pokémon have been shown in the second trailer, so fans are anticipating the Legendary Pokémon for the upcoming Winds and Waves game to appear in that trailer as well.
