A popular new challenge in The Sims 4 asks players to build the smallest possible house that still functions as a livable home. Players are trying to fit everything a Sim needs into a tiny 3×2 space. While it’s incredibly challenging to build a home in just six squares, several players have successfully completed it, and the results are surprisingly impressive.
The Sims, created by Maxis and EA, has been popular for over 11 years thanks to constant updates and expansions. While the game always allowed players to build diverse homes, recent additions have focused more on fantasy and luxurious lifestyles, like the Royalty and Legacy pack released in February. Many players are enjoying these extravagant features, but some are hoping for content that’s more grounded in everyday life.
Sims 4 3×2 Tiny House Challenge Produces Some Impressive Builds
A player recently sparked a new trend in the game by building an incredibly small home – just 3×2 tiles – that still manages to include everything Sims need to be happy. Reddit user Brave-Astronaut2085 shared pictures of this cozy, single-room space, which surprisingly combines a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen into an area most players would consider too small for even one of those rooms. It features a toilet next to a bunk bed ladder and a desk, minifridge, and microwave tucked under the bed. The only slightly odd feature is the outdoor shower, with commenters playfully warning the builder to be careful with the microwave around water.
Okay, so those first tiny home pictures totally blew my mind, and now I’ve seen another one that’s even more impressive! This one was built by a player named Lyceux, and it’s seriously cozy. It still has that clever under-the-bed desk and kitchen area, but they managed to squeeze in a whole bathroom – like, everything you need! They used a curtain to separate it from the main room, which is brilliant. Honestly, it wouldn’t feel like a total struggle to live in this space. Lyceux did it all with some building cheats in Sims 4 – shrinking the sink and toilet, and using the ‘moveobjects’ cheat to really maximize the space. It’s amazing how they got everything to fit without breaking the game!
Both designs have been popular with Sims 4 players, who have shared lots of ideas about how they could be used in the game’s storylines. Many have pointed out how similar these small 3×2 builds are to the tight apartments you often find in big cities like New York, making them perfect for a city-themed neighborhood in The Sims 4. Others, especially students anticipating small dorm rooms, appreciate how functional and customizable these spaces are. One player even suggested they could be adapted for a cruise ship mod.

While tiny houses are popular right now, many players are also focusing on creating more realistic, everyday living spaces in games like The Sims 4. They’re building low-cost apartments with simple, sometimes messy designs and small layouts, reflecting the kinds of homes many players actually experience and relate to.
