It’s been disappointing to see the decline of One Punch Man. The first anime season, created by Madhouse, was fantastic and remained popular for a long time. Sadly, the second season didn’t live up to expectations. Despite this, fans were still optimistic that the third season would be a return to form.
Everyone expected a strong third season, and the studio felt a lot of pressure to deliver. Unfortunately, J.C. Staff didn’t meet expectations again, leading to widespread disappointment online.

- OPM Season 3 Part 2 will release 2027
The second part of One Punch Man Season 3 was officially confirmed on December 28, 2025. It’s scheduled to be released in 2027 and will be produced by J.C. Staff, the studio behind previous seasons. While some fans had hoped for a different studio to take over, and there was speculation that Madhouse might return, J.C. Staff will continue to handle production.
It’s unfortunate that J.C. Staff will continue to work on the series, meaning the next installment might be as disappointing as the previous two. However, it’s important for fans to be respectful to everyone involved. Even if the outcome isn’t what they hoped for, harassing the staff online – especially considering the difficult circumstances – is unacceptable.
There’s still a possibility J.C. Staff could successfully adapt the next part of the story, as they have over a year for production. Given enough time and resources, they could create an adaptation that fans will love for a long time.
One Punch Man Season 3 Was A Big Failure
Honestly, I was so disappointed with the third season of One Punch Man. It wasn’t just the animation quality – though that was a big part of it, and it really felt like the studio didn’t give it their all. There were moments, especially in some episodes, where it didn’t even flow properly, looking more like a slideshow than an action series. It was a real letdown, and several things contributed to why it didn’t do well.
The third season of One Punch Man faced significant censorship issues. These problems ultimately led to the season being poorly received, resulting in a rating below 5 on MyAnimeList.
One Punch Man is available to stream on Netflix.
