After finishing Chapter 7 of Crimson Desert, you can hunt Aera Outlaw, one of twelve available bounties in Pailune. This masked criminal is located very close to Valgrind Tomb, near the city of Pailune, making it quick and easy to turn them in to the guards.
Many players are having trouble locating Aera in Pailune, so this guide is here to help. If you’re unable to find her using the in-game map, here’s where she is in Crimson Desert.
How to Unlock and Capture Aera in Crimson Desert
- Before starting to chase outlaw bounties in Pailune, players first need to complete Chapter 7, fully liberating the entire region of all enemies and reuniting the Greymanes in their homeland. (This will also reward you with Oongka as a playable character).
- By exploring the town of Pailune after liberating it, numerous outlaw bounty notices start to pop up on wooden poles in the town or near the main roads, including Aera’s.
- Taking Aera’s notice and reading it will add the bounty quest to the journal, where players can also track the outlaw’s map location.
- Aera hides right next to the Valgrind Tomb’s entrance, located directly north of the city of Pailune, pretty close to the city. She often has two to four companions at her side, although they won’t be hostile and will flee as soon as players approach the suspicious group.
- Many players report difficulties in locating Aera in Crimson Desert, as the outlaw is nowhere to be seen near the map marker for them, and reloading the game does not always help. The most apparent issue here is that players may have already frightened Aera away during early exploration, without having started her bounty.
- If that’s the case and you can’t find Aera on the spot near the Valgrind Tomb, check the surrounding area, as shown in the red circle on the map image above. Most likely, Aera will be found roaming nearby — in our case, east of Valgrind Tomb, closer to the river. Observe your mini-map closely for an outlaw icon to appear.
- Chase Aera and quickly tackle her (X/A), then tie her up and prepare to deliver her to justice at the Pailune jail, which is thankfully, pretty close by, without the need of a horse.
- By turning Aera into the Pailune guards, players will get a reward of 9 silver, as well as some Greymane contribution points that you can spend in the contribution shop nearby to get some outfit items.
Aera is a criminal we need to capture, not kill. If you bring her in alive, you’ll receive the full reward, but killing her will only get you half the silver.
Starting in Chapter 8 of Pailune, you’ll be able to claim more outlaws, including some unusual ones like Wolfe, a boarman who disguises himself as a talking wild boar in the forest. We have a guide to help you find and capture him too!
