Okay, so I’m completely hooked on Witch Hat Atelier! We’re down to just four episodes left, and things are really picking up. It started out so charming and colorful, this beautiful world of magic, but now there’s a genuine threat looming. Someone’s after Coco, and they’re willing to bring back some seriously dangerous, forbidden magic to get to her. Honestly, it’s been the standout anime of the Spring 2026 season for me – the animation is gorgeous and they’ve done such an amazing job adapting Kamome Shirahama’s manga. Now that we’re nearing the end, everyone’s buzzing about how it will all wrap up, and desperately hoping for a second season!

Wow, episode 9 of Witch Hat Atelier was a whirlwind! We got to see Qifrey’s apprentices really working on their magic, and he hinted at all the challenges ahead for anyone wanting to become a full witch. But things took a really interesting turn when Qifrey, secretly, tried to figure out what connected Coco to those mysterious Brimmed Hats. It didn’t go well – there was a ton of magical energy unleashed, a lightning strike, even a waterspout! It was almost disastrous. Sadly, the only clue he had – Coco’s ink bottle – got broken in the chaos, leaving us with even more questions. There was a really cute little moment between Coco and Agott, but it was cut short when Coco suddenly got a terrible fever. Qifrey had to rush her to Kalhn, and then he was confronted by Tartah, who clearly wants answers. I’m on the edge of my seat to see if Qifrey will tell him anything!

Episode 9 ended with a lot of suspense! Qifrey was unexpectedly questioned about the previous week’s events, and Coco is facing a potentially severe illness. With Coco vulnerable and Qifrey distracted by everything happening around him, the Brimmed Caps are likely preparing to attack. It’s unclear how the series will conclude, but this tense situation will probably continue until the very end. You can watch the final episode, “A Promise in Silver,” on Crunchyroll starting June 1, 2026, at 7 AM Pacific Time / 10 AM Eastern Time, with options for both Japanese audio with English subtitles and an English dub.

The original manga is still being published in Morning Two magazine as the anime continues. Plus, the spin-off series Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen is gaining a lot of attention online, and many fans are hoping it might also get an anime adaptation in the future.

Director Ayumu Watanabe recently shared that adapting Witch Hat Atelier was a huge undertaking. The animation studio, Bug Films, spent more than three and a half years combining traditional hand-drawn animation with computer-generated imagery. Their main goal was to remain faithful to the original work by Shirahama, and most viewers would say they succeeded.
