World of Warcraft Reveals Patch 12.0.7, All But Confirms Patch 12.1

The latest update for World of Warcraft, Patch 12.0.7 called Revelations, strongly indicates that the next major content patch, 12.1, will take place in the Atal’Utek zone. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, based on the game’s recent update schedule, we can expect it to launch around June 16th.

On April 21st, a new update, Patch 12.0.5, came out for World of Warcraft. While the update had some initial problems with bugs, it also added a lot of new things to do, like Void Assaults, Abyss Anglers, Ritual Sites, and Decor Duels.

World of Warcraft: Midnight Patch 12.0.7 Explained

Even though the latest World of Warcraft update, Patch 12.0.5, just came out, Blizzard has already announced the next one. Called Revelations (Patch 12.0.7), it will add a lot of new content, including the first part of the story following the events of World of Warcraft: Midnight. This update focuses on the Haranir, who are bringing together representatives from all the Elf and Troll tribes for a peace summit. Zul’Jan, brother of the Amani leader Zul’Jarra, and his uncle Kinduru will both be attending as representatives of their tribe.

Things take an unexpected turn when the trolls stumble into an old mystery connected to Zul’Jin, Hexlord Malacrass, and a being named Ula’tek. Early test versions of the game suggest this is the beginning of a campaign called “The Curse of Ula’tek,” which likely reveals the theme and title of the upcoming Patch 12.1. Players had guessed that Atal’Utek, an island near Zul’Aman that mysteriously sends players away, would be the setting for Patch 12.1, and it appears those predictions are now confirmed.

Patch 12.1 offers much more than just the new campaign! Here’s a look at some of the other key features and events that have been announced:

  • Void Assaults spread to Naigtal and Val, two Legion Assault planets from the Legion expansion, featuring World Quests, rare spawns, events, and world bosses.
    • Naigtal, an arcane-rich fungal world occupied by the Hal’hadar Ethereal faction
    • Val, an icy Legion world the Dominaar Imperator Pertinax now controls.
  • The Omnium Folio, a player power feature centered on the Sunstrider Omnium, an ancient Elven relic built by Dath’remar Sunstrider.
  • Sporefall, a one-off raid against a fungal giant named Rotmire, featuring the new flexible 15-25 Mythic difficulty.
  • A Troll Lorewalking story featuring the Zandalari, Drakkari, Gurubashi and Darkspear Trolls told by Assistant Lorewalker Li Li Stormstout.
  • A side story helping Loa Speaker Brek and Jan’alai welcome a new clutch of Dragonhawks into the world.
  • The return of Turbulent Timeways with the Spawn of Vyranoth as a reward.
  • The permanent addition of Dragonflight Timewalking, featuring six dungeons:
    • Algeth’ar Academy
    • Halls of Infusion
    • Neltharus
    • Ruby Life Pools
    • The Azure Vaults
    • Brackenhide Hollow
  • The Darkspear Dash Pride event micro-holiday in WoW, inspired by the Running of the Trolls community event.
  • UI updates, class balance, and more.
