Xbox Game Pass is getting a fantastic RPG update on June 2nd! The service already boasts many highly-rated role-playing games, including last year’s Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members were able to play Clair Obscur on day one as part of their existing subscription – no extra cost!
Originally available only to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, the game Expedition 33 is now also included with the more affordable Game Pass Premium tier, which costs $14.99 a month compared to $22.99 for Ultimate. This is exciting news for players! Soon, another excellent turn-based RPG will be added to all three Game Pass tiers – Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate – so fans of the genre should keep an eye out.
Final Fantasy 6 is Coming to Game Pass
I’m super excited! Final Fantasy 6, the Pixel Remaster version, is hitting Xbox Game Pass on June 2nd. This isn’t just the original; it’s got some cool updates, like a fast-forward feature that’s going to make replaying sections way quicker. Honestly, Final Fantasy 6 is already considered one of the greatest RPGs of all time, so getting it with my Game Pass subscription is amazing. If you’ve never played it before, now is the perfect time to jump in!

Final Fantasy 6 is highly praised for its story and iconic characters, including the memorable villain Kefka, and for taking risks with the Final Fantasy formula. Many consider it a perfect example of classic Final Fantasy and a fantastic addition to Game Pass. But it’s not the only Final Fantasy game available on the service – Xbox Game Pass is gradually adding all of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters, letting subscribers enjoy these retro versions of the games starting June 2nd.
Xbox Game Pass has recently added the original Final Fantasy games, including Final Fantasy through Final Fantasy 5. Microsoft has been adding these classic titles at a rate of about one per month, and it’s likely this pattern will continue. Although the Pixel Remaster versions have all been added, other Final Fantasy games available on Xbox could be added to the service in the future.

A wide range of Final Fantasy games are now available on Xbox, including Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, 10/10-2 HD Remaster, 12: The Zodiac Age, 14, 15, and 16. Even Final Fantasy 13 can be played, though it’s an older Xbox 360 game and probably won’t be added to Xbox Game Pass. This means fans of the series, or anyone interested in trying Final Fantasy, can subscribe to Xbox Game Pass and enjoy many of the classic titles.
