This year, Overwatch 2 is going all out for Pride celebrations! In the game, players can grab a free Soldier: 76 skin and emote. Additionally, there’s a new short story starring the veteran soldier, and in a unique twist, an actual fan art exhibition on the Blizzard campus. From May 30 to June 30, players can join in the Pride festivities within and beyond the game boundaries in Overwatch 2!

In June, there’s a 30-day event known as Pride, which is all about acknowledging and honoring individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and their accomplishments, while also shedding light on the challenges they’ve overcome to reach their current position. Previously, the game Overwatch 2 has joined in this celebration, considering that several developers and playable characters identify as part of the queer community.

For the year of 2022, Pride is making a return to Future Earth, putting a strong emphasis on Jack Morrison, famously recognized as Soldier: 76 – one of Overwatch 2’s pioneering LGBTQ+ characters. Players logging into the game between May 30 and June 30 will receive the freshly minted Resilient Rare skin for Soldier: 76, in addition to a vibrant rainbow smoke bomb emote. During this period, the Midtown map will be adorned with Pride parade embellishments, including confetti, colorful crosswalks with rainbows, and various other festive ornaments typical of real-life Pride events.

In the real-life scenario, Blizzard is creating a unique Pride-themed art collection for Overwatch 2. Until June’s end, enthusiasts are invited to submit their digital or physical Overwatch 2 artwork to the community team. The team will then select and exhibit their preferred pieces on the Blizzard campus in Irvine, California. Additionally, they have provided three coloring pages as a fun activity for players, showcasing Jack and Vincent, Tracer and Emily, and Venture.

Beginning on June 24, Season 17 of Overwatch 2 doesn’t officially involve Pride celebrations, but it does introduce exciting new content such as Mythic skins for D.Va and Reaper, the Aatlis map for Flashpoint, and updates for Stadium. Meanwhile, fans can still participate in the Stadium: Initiation in-game event, where completing a few matches while playing in a group rewards players with a free Epic Loot Box.
