According to the organisation’s blog post, a whopping 1.595 million BNB tokens have been sent to the great digital beyond, never to be seen again 👋. This includes the actual tokens burned, as well as some coins that were recovered through the Pioneer Burn Program – because even lost coins deserve a second chance 🤗.
The total value of the burned coins? A cool $1.024 billion 💸. Not bad for a day’s work. The BNB Chain now has a total supply of 139.2 million, which is still a lot of coins, but hey, it’s a start 🤔.
So, why is the BNB Chain doing all this burning? Well, it’s all part of their master plan to reduce the total supply of BNB to 100 million. And how do they plan to do it? With an auto-burn program that’s tied to the number of blocks produced on the BNB Chain, of course 🤖. It’s like a digital game of Tetris, but with blocks and coins instead of, well, blocks and coins 🤔.
But wait, there’s more! The BNB Foundation has also announced that future burns will be conducted directly on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), thanks to the BNB Chain Fusion. Because who needs two chains when you can have one, right? 🤷♀️
So, what does all this mean for the price of BNB? Well, according to the laws of demand and supply, these quarterly burns could have a positive impact on the price. And with institutions like Nano Labs buying up large amounts of BNB, things are looking bright 🌟.
Last month, Nano Labs announced a $500 million convertible note offering, with the intention of using the proceeds to acquire BNB as a strategic treasury reserve. And just last week, they revealed that they’d purchased 74,315 BNB for a total of $50 million. That’s a lot of coins, folks 🤯.
