On July 21st, the content creator and Vtuber known as Ironmouse, who is also popular on Twitch, declared that she was leaving Vshojo – a collective she helped establish in 2020. In a YouTube broadcast, this influential figure claimed that Vshojo owes her a substantial sum of money, plus more than half a million dollars in charitable donations meant for the Immune Deficiency Foundation.
In 2017, Ironmouse began streaming, as a diagnosis of common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) had kept her largely secluded and hindered her aspirations in opera singing. To safeguard her identity while still being creative, she was influenced by Kizuna AI, the first Virtual YouTuber, to create an avatar and persona of her own. Since then, Ironmouse has garnered a following of over 2.3 million on Twitch, and has teamed up with streamers like Connor “CDawg” Colquhoun for fundraising events in support of the Immune Deficiency Foundation.
Despite being a highly sought-after content creator on Twitch, Ironmouse has once again ventured out independently. In a YouTube video lasting nearly 11 minutes, Ironmouse announced her departure from Vshojo, following allegations that the organization she co-founded mishandled funds intended for her and the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF). Ironmouse claims that they owe her a substantial sum of money for her contributions, and that Vshojo failed to distribute over half a million dollars in donations meant for the IDF.
Ironmouse Has Left Vshojo Effective Immediately
Ironmouse explained that although she had more thoughts on the subject, her lawyers suggested she remain silent and let the legal proceedings unfold. In contrast to other Vtuber groups like Hololive, Vshojo permits departing artists to retain their names, intellectual property, and avatars as independent performers. Consequently, Ironmouse maintains her current role as an individual Vtuber. She also invited her followers to donate to the IDF through Tiltify, mentioning that all proceeds from her announcement’s ad revenue would be given to charity.
Back in November 2020, I was thrilled to see the birth of Vshojo, a platform that welcomed some incredible Vtuber talents like Zentreya, Projekt Melody, and my personal favorite, Ironmouse. Over time, we’ve seen members come and go from this organization. In fact, in 2023, Nyanners, one of the original co-founders, left due to a contract disagreement and later joined Mythic Talent. Fast forward to 2025, Ironmouse became the fourth former Vshojo member to part ways with the group, following in the footsteps of Matara Kan, Geega, and Zentreya who departed in June and July of the same year. Across social media, fellow Vtubers and content creators have shown their solidarity and support for Ironmouse.
At present, Vshojo’s roster of talent includes streamers such as Kson, Henya the Genius, and co-founder Projekt Melody. However, Vshojo has yet to address Ironmouse’s departure and allegations. We can only wait and see how this situation unfolds in the future.
