In Donkey Kong Bananza, as you meet each Elder, the mission shifts to DK and Pauline to gather shattered fragments of the current layer’s Ancient Scroll. The Radiance Layer is inhabited by the Snake Elder and the Snake Bananza transformation, but players cannot unlock this ultimate Bananza power until they have collected all four pieces of the Radiance Ancient Scroll’s remnants.

The Record Pieces are scattered around, but players of Donkey Kong Bananza can’t simply grab them; instead, each one is hidden behind a specific challenge. When you get to the Radiance Layer, you’ll be swiftly guided to the Snake Elder. Similar to the other Elders you’ve met so far, the Snake Elder won’t bestow Donkey Kong with a new Bananza power until he locates and brings back Ancient Record fragments.

In other layers, these record fragments may be discovered openly or nearby, but within the Radiance layer, each of the four Record pieces are hidden in distinct challenge rooms encircling the Snake Elder.

Speak with the serpentine characters near the elder for directions on locating the four trials and the four Record fragments hidden within the Abyss of Darkness, the Blistering Sunspot, the Twisting Chute, and the Scaly Glider in your journey.

Radiance Layer Ancient Record Piece #1 Location

The Pitch-Dark Pit

As a keen explorer, venturing into the mysterious depths of a cave, I discovered the Snake Elder residing to my left, with the ominous Pitch-Dark Pit nearby. The tunnels within were shrouded in an almost impenetrable darkness. However, scattered throughout these shadowy passages, I stumbled upon Glow Stones – precious gems that enabled DK (our hero) to illuminate his surroundings, clear away environmental hurdles, and vanquish spectral adversaries lurking within the cave’s depths.

As I delve deeper into the heart of this cave, I eventually come across three shadowy foes guarding my first Radiance Record Piece. Using a Glow Stone, I take them down one by one. With each enemy vanquished, I approach the gleaming Record Piece, which shines brightly like a beacon in the darkness. Picking it up, I tuck it safely away and feel its warmth as I make my way back to the surface. Upon reaching the Snake Elder’s turntable, I place this precious glow-in-the-dark artifact carefully, ready to see what mysteries it might reveal.

The Sizzling Sunbath

To your left, you’ll discover the Scorching Sunbath, much like an abyssal pit. The Snake Elder resides nearby. The entrance to this fiery chamber is concealed within the wall on the left side. Inside, you’ll find a room dominated by lava and a metallic walkway suspended above it. At the center of this room stands a large enemy, resembling a cube with spinning arms, ready to strike from its circular platform.

Enter the room, leap over the adversary extending their arms from their body, subsequently reach for the second Turntable Piece located on a platform at the rear of the room. Afterward, retrace your steps to the entrance and jump over the enemy’s arms again. Finally, put this item onto the turntable.

The Sidewinder Slide

The other two Radiance layer locations for the Record Pieces are found on the right side next to the Snake Elder. The Sidewinder Slide is a massive tube that descends into a hole in the ground. To conquer this task, Donkey Kong needs to grip onto the slippery tube and slide continuously until reaching the bottom of the pillar, evading spikes and dangers along the way.

To conquer the Sidewinder Slide puzzle effectively, seize the cylinder situated at its peak. Adjust your camera angle to get a clear view of the pathway underneath. Keep in mind that by pushing up on the control stick, you can decrease Donkey Kong’s slipping speed, which provides him with better traction and is useful for navigating challenging parts of the cylinder.

At the initial stopping spot, you’ll receive a Banandium Gem. Proceed by moving slideways until you reach the lowest point, where you’ll discover the third location of the Ancient Record Piece. If you have excellent aim and can maneuver DK skillfully in mid-air, you can leap from this platform and land in the lower gap to obtain the record piece without sliding all the way down.

Pick up the record fragment, retrieve the barrel to ascend, afterward position it onto the turntable, and proceed following the Snake Elder to discover the last Ancient Record fragment within the Radiance level.

The Slithery Zip Line

In this Slithery Zip Line contest, you’ll encounter difficulties unlike those in the other three challenges from the Radiance Ancient Record Pieces. This particular room boasts a multitude of zip lines and enemies that have been vacated or voided. Your objective is to traverse these zip lines and seize the Record Piece on the opposite side, but there’s a catch – ordinary terrain erodes before you can reach the other side.

Instead, entice an enemy who has retreated from here towards a radiant spot, then seize the ground on its back once it turns pale. When in the light, this piece will stay luminescent, but if you depart from the light, it transforms into an incredibly sturdy rock chunk void of life. While holding a void stone, leap onto the barrel and ascend to the zip lines.

As you glide along the zipline, move from one side to another to dodge approaching hindrances and reach your destination. Grab the vinyl record fragment, then repeatedly tap the balloon to elevate the platform where the zipline ends. Keep tapping this continuously to lift the platform to its highest point possible.

Holding the Record Piece from the Last Radiance Layer, use the elevated zipline to return to the entry point. If you fail to adjust the height of the zipline using the blue balloon platform lift feature, you might not reach the other side.

Take this to the Elder Snake, finish the Ancient Record of Radiance, and you’ll receive a fresh Bananza power: The Snake form. With this transformation, Donkey Kong can jump high like a spring and slow down time using his snake-like gaze. This is the final Bananza transformation that players can unlock in Donkey Kong Bananza.
