Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Have A New Shiny Legendary To Face

Starting on August 3rd, the game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet initiated a second Tera Raid battle against the Luminous Artifacts of Ruin, with Shiny Chien-Pao taking center stage. Similar to the previous Tera Raid battle, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet need to join forces and defeat Shiny Chien-Pao collectively one million times. This triumph will allow them to claim Shiny Chien-Pao as a Mystery Gift in August.

In the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Chien-Pao is famously recognized as one of the Four Treasures of Ruin, often referred to as the Ruinous Pokemon. This Legendary creature exhibits a dual type of Dark and Ice attributes, boasting an imposing figure reminiscent of a snow leopard with massive sword-like fangs. When it’s in its Shiny form, Chien-Pao sports a muddy brown coat, creating a striking contrast compared to its typical icy appearance.

Equipped with high attack statistics, this Ice Pokemon excels at carving through opponents with pinpoint accuracy. Its arsenal of moves includes Night Slash, Icicle Crash, and Ruination, all of which are optimized to maximize the potential of its impressive offensive capabilities.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Can Battle Shiny Chien-Pao Until August 17

After the conclusion of the Shiny Wo-Chien Tera raids, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are now dealing with the second member of the Shiny Treasures of Ruin – Shiny Chien-Pao. As reported by Serebii.net, Shiny Chien-Pao will be appearing in Five-Star Tera Raid dens until Sunday, August 17, at 7:59 PM Eastern Time. Therefore, Pokemon trainers have two weeks to encounter it. Shiny Chien-Pao will possess the Ice type as its Tera type and will be set at level 75. When a Tera raid battle commences, Shiny Chien-Pao will swiftly use Ruination and Haze, followed by a protective shield that breaks easily with Terastallization. During regular attacks, Shiny Chien-Pao will utilize Crunch, Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, and Sacred Sword.

Although Chien-Pao boasts a strong offensive ability, its defensive capabilities are weak, making it similar to a glass cannon. A squad of Level 100 Fighting-type Pokemon such as Zamazenta or Iron Hands would be ideal for defeating Shiny Chien-Pao with ease. Just like its precursor, Shiny Chien-Pao cannot be captured conventionally upon being defeated. Instead, trainers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet must unite to defeat Shiny Chien-Pao a total of one million times before the August 17 deadline.

During the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Shiny Wo-Chien Tera Raid event, players were able to overcome their challenges, having defeated Shiny Wo-Chien a total of more than 3.5 million times. Starting from Friday, August 8th, trainers can obtain Shiny Wo-Chien via the Mystery Gift feature. Following this, Shiny Chien-Pao will be available on August 17th, with Shiny Ting-Lu appearing on August 18th. Lastly, Shiny Chi-Yu will challenge players starting from August 31st.
