The latest update for “Starfield” has been released, offering enhancements and addressing issues for all gamers. Even though Bethesda has been supporting “Starfield” since its late 2023 debut, many players are dissatisfied due to the lack of new content in the RPG. However, there’s optimism within the community that the anticipated upcoming expansion will revitalize the challenging game.
The game Starfield, praised for its captivating environment and music, hasn’t quite delivered in terms of story and exploration to the satisfaction of many gamers. Its first expansion, Shattered Space, was released a year following its launch but fell short of expectations, causing frustration among players due to numerous bugs and a scarcity of significant new weapons or gadgets. Although the developers have yet to officially announce another DLC, there are persistent rumors about it, with a recent leak suggesting that the second Starfield expansion has been delayed from 2025. This is unfortunate news, as player activity on Steam remains relatively low, averaging around 4,500 concurrent players at any given time.
In anticipation of fresh narrative elements, Bethesda has rolled out a minor yet significant update for their space RPG, enhancing the Creation menu and addressing numerous long-standing issues. Originally unveiled as a beta in July, this Starfield update is now accessible to all gamers, with a critical fix rectifying a problem that might misrepresent Extreme Temperature gear. The Missions Menu sorting has been optimized, and general bug-related crashes and instability have been addressed.

During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 in June, fans were disheartened not to find Starfield among the lineup, leading some to speculate whether the team had shifted their focus towards Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6. Despite a general lowering of anticipation levels, the absence of even a brief glimpse of the RPG during the event left the community perplexed. The Creation Club has received regular updates, but fresh content for the game now appears elusive.

Just recently, a fresh report hinted at the potential release of Starfield on PlayStation 5 in Spring 2026, coinciding with the game’s second expansion and some enhancements to improve user experience. However, it was clarified that this announcement wouldn’t be made during this month’s Gamescom event, and instead, the PS5 port won’t be a surprise release. While Bethesda hasn’t confirmed it yet, launching on Sony’s platform could help boost Starfield’s decreasing player base.
