By July 30, 2025, a total of 241 new cards were incorporated into the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, introducing many renowned Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region, which served as the primary setting for the second generation of mainline Pokémon games.
In the card packs that players can open, there are two variations inspired by the Legendary boxart characters of Pokemon Gold and Silver: Ho-Oh and Lugia. But with the recent update for TCG Pocket, something fresh has been incorporated – six-card packs. Previously, since its launch last year, you could only extract five cards from a single pack. However, that’s changed now. Here’s how it operates.
Here’s Why You’re Pulling Six Cards from Packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket
When unsealing boxes for certain collections, like Wisdom of Sea and Sky or Secluded Springs, there’s a slight chance you’ll receive a Special Pack containing an additional 1 card (6 cards in total). It seems that many recipients of the sixth card often find a baby Pokemon inside, such as Pichu, Magby, Elekid, Tyrogue, and Cleffa. Upon drawing the bonus card, you’ll notice a stylish design that sets it apart from other draws.
In the games Pokémon Gold and Silver, a new type of Pokémon known as baby Pokémon were introduced. These are essentially early forms of previously known Pokémon that have been recently discovered. For instance, Pichu is the baby version of everyone’s favorite electric mouse, Pikachu; Elekid is the baby version of the powerful and energetic Electabuzz; while Cleffa can evolve into the ever-popular fairy creature, Clefairy.
What Are the Chances of Getting Six Cards From One Pack in Pokemon TCG Pocket?

In regards to drawing cards from the Sea and Sky Wisdom deck within the Pokemon TCG Pocket, there’s approximately an 8.3% probability of landing that elusive sixth bonus card. Additionally, it’s quite likely, at around 29%, that the additional card will be one of the Baby Pokemon we discussed previously.
