At the September 12 Nintendo Direct event, the developer ProbablyMonsters unveiled that they had secretly released their high-speed cooperative roguelike game, Storm Lancers, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch and its successor, the Switch 2. Sporting an attention-grabbing art style reminiscent of ’80s cartoons, Storm Lancers is among two games being developed by the studio helmed by the former CEO and president of Bungie, Harold Ryan.
Establishing in 2016, ProbablyMonsters embarks on a novel, eco-friendly approach to game development, and their initial projects serve as a trial for this new method. The second project, featuring an eye-catching style reminiscent of anime, is called “Ire: A Prologue“, promising an immersive psychological horror experience.
