This article contains all of Goku’s most powerful moves in the canon of the Dragon Ball series.
As a longtime fan of Dragon Ball, I’ve always been amazed by Goku’s incredible range of abilities. He’s trained with so many powerful masters throughout the series that he’s become, in my opinion, the most versatile fighter in the whole franchise. He doesn’t just rely on strength; he has a huge collection of unique attacks and techniques that he’s mastered over the years.
Goku has used countless attacks throughout the years, but a few are particularly powerful – not just for him, but for the entire *Dragon Ball* universe. This article will explore Goku’s strongest attacks and determine which one is the most devastating.
The God Bind Is One Of Goku’s Unique Techniques In His God Form
A Useful Attack

| First Apperance | Dragon Ball Super: Broly |
|---|---|
| Story Arc | Broly Arc |
- A move to incapacitate.
Goku’s God Bind isn’t a direct, aggressive attack like his other moves, but it’s still incredibly useful in a fight. While Goku often learns powerful techniques from others and perfects them, the God Bind is unique to him – it’s an original attack that fully harnesses the power of his Super Saiyan God form.
Hey, take it easy!
When Goku transforms, he can access a special energy called God Ki. He uses this energy to restrain opponents, effectively trapping them. He only demonstrated this ability once, against Broly, hoping to calm him down with conversation. Even though Broly broke free, Goku showed that this technique can be a valuable asset in battle.
The Many Variations Of The Kamehameha Are Goku’s Bread And Butter
His Most Iconic Attack

| First Appearance | Dragon Ball, Episode 8, “The Kamehameha Wave” |
|---|---|
| Story Arc | Emperor Pilaf Saga |
- The most iconic attack in the series.
The Kamehameha wave is arguably the most iconic attack in the entire Dragon Ball series. First created by Master Roshi, it’s been adopted by many of the Z-Fighters and become a staple in their fighting styles. However, no one wields it quite like Goku, who learned the technique as a child and has relied on it as a signature, incredibly powerful move ever since, constantly developing new and impressive versions.
Power comes in response to a need, not a desire. You have to create that need.
Goku’s Kamehameha wave has evolved significantly over time, becoming more powerful with each new version. It started as a simple energy blast, then became the Super Kamehameha when Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. Later, when he fused with Vegeta, even stronger variations appeared. Currently, the most powerful form is the Supreme Kamehameha, which he unleashes while using his Ultra Instinct ability.
Though Far From Perfect, Goku Has Shown The Abitlity To Use Hakai
The Power of the Destroyers
| First Appearance | Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 25, “Is It Goku?! Or Is It Zamasu?!” |
|---|---|
| Story Arc | Goku Black Arc |
- Goku briefly used the technique of the Destroyers.
Goku is arguably the most skilled martial artist in the entire series. He has an incredible ability to learn and quickly master even the most complicated fighting techniques. A prime example of this was during the Goku Black arc, where he briefly performed the powerful Hakai technique – usually reserved for Gods of Destruction – after witnessing it used by Beerus only a few times.
That’s Beerus’s technique!
Goku’s attempt at the Hakai technique wasn’t perfect – it took a long time to work and wasn’t as strong as Beerus’s. However, the Hakai is generally considered the most powerful attack in *Dragon Ball*, so even Goku’s incomplete version was incredibly strong.
Goku’s Spirit Avatar Made Full Use Of His Ultra Instinct Technique
An Amazing New Technique

| First Appearance | Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 66, “Moro, Consumer of Worlds” |
|---|---|
| Story Arc | Moro Arc |
- A unique application of Ultra Instinct.
Goku’s first experience with Ultra Instinct during the Tournament of Power wasn’t a complete mastery of the form; he couldn’t fully harness its power at that time. He later perfected it and began using Ultra Instinct to its full potential in later story arcs. Specifically, during the fight against Moro, Goku discovered a new way to access the form’s power by channeling energy received from Vegeta’s Spirit Fission through a massive energy avatar.
True strength is achieved when the mind is still and the body moves like the wind.
It’s amazing how Goku eventually got the hang of that weird power we saw him tap into, even using it against Gas during the Granolah arc! Honestly, no one really knows *how* he does it, but a lot of us fans think it only comes out when he’s truly desperate and in Mastered Ultra Instinct. I’d even say it’s his second strongest attack – that form clearly amps up his strength and power a *lot*, letting him completely overwhelm his opponents. It’s just incredible to watch!
The Spirit Bomb Will Always Be Goku’s Most Powerful Attack
A Move Made From Everyone’s Energy

| First Appearance | Dragon Ball Z, Episode 15, “Counting Down” |
|---|---|
| Story Arc | Saiyan Saga |
- The ultimate attack to vanquish evil.
I’ve always seen the Spirit Bomb as Goku’s ultimate move, and it makes sense why. He basically gathers energy from everything around him – people, the planet, everything – and focuses it all into one massive attack. He holds his arms up, and you can *see* the power building as this huge ball of energy forms above him. It’s truly one of the strongest attacks in all of *Dragon Ball*.
People of the Universe! Share your energy with me!
I’m a huge fan of the Spirit Bomb, and what makes it so amazing, in my opinion, is that it doesn’t just rely on Goku’s power. It gathers energy from everyone around him – sometimes even *every* living being in the universe! That’s what gives it the potential to be unbelievably strong. While the size of the Spirit Bomb can vary, it’s consistently shown as Goku’s ultimate, most powerful attack, and it’s just awesome to watch.
Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
