As a big Xbox Game Pass fan, I’m a little bummed to hear that three Ninja Gaiden games are leaving the service later today, September 30th. It means a total of six games will be removed from Game Pass on September 30th, which is a bit disappointing!
For the first nine months of 2025, Microsoft continued its regular practice of removing games from its subscription service every two weeks. The last removal happened on September 15th, when Xbox Game Pass lost All You Need is Help, Wargroove 2, and We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie. Now, another set of three games is scheduled to be removed soon.
On September 30th, several games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass, including Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. These three challenging action games are all included in the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, which first came out on PC and consoles in June 2021. The collection has been available on Xbox Game Pass since June 2022. After three years and three months, the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection has been on Microsoft’s service for a longer period than many games from other developers.
Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving September 30, 2025
Game | Added | Platforms | How Long To Beat |
---|---|---|---|
Ninja Gaiden Sigma | Jun 2022 | Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Cloud | 13–30 hours |
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 | Jun 2022 | 11–87 hours | |
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge | Jun 2022 | 7–34 hours |
Originally, the departures scheduled for September 30th included Terra Invicta, a 4X strategy game for PC that is currently in early access. However, Microsoft later took back this announcement, resulting in fewer games being removed from Xbox Game Pass – a very unusual occurrence. It’s still unknown if the initial announcement was a mistake, or if a late agreement regarding licensing kept the game available for longer. If it was an error, Terra Invicta could still be removed from Xbox Game Pass soon.
Ninja Gaiden Franchise Returning To Xbox Game Pass in October 2025
Although the well-known subscription service is removing three Ninja Gaiden games shortly, it will add another one soon. Ninja Gaiden 4 will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting October 21, and will be accessible to PC Game Pass and XGP Ultimate subscribers from day one. This release falls within the second wave of October additions. Following Ninja Gaiden 4, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault and Bounty Star will also be added to Xbox Game Pass on October 23 as day-one releases.
We anticipate the next round of service changes happening on October 16. Microsoft usually announces these things about a week beforehand, so expect an announcement around October 7. Conveniently, that’s also when Little Rocket Lab and Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato will be added to Xbox Game Pass.
