Jujutsu Kaisen quickly became a huge hit with anime fans and is now considered one of the greatest series ever made. Gege Akutami created a fantastic story that revitalized the action-packed battle shounen genre, offering memorable, well-developed characters, an intricate system of powers, and intense, suspenseful conflicts.
Yuji Itadori’s entry into the world of Jujutsu Sorcery is a thrilling and tragic story that explores darker themes and consistently surprises viewers. The series features a wide range of characters, many with incredible potential-some are even more compelling than the main characters. Here are some Jujutsu Kaisen characters who could easily carry their own spin-off series.
Yuta Okkotsu
The Cursed Prodigy
Yuta Okotsu is considered a prodigy in the world of jujutsu, second only in strength to Satoru Gojo. He’s a fascinating character in Jujutsu Kaisen, playing a key role as a supporting figure. Gojo recognized Yuta’s potential because of his special cursed technique – the ability to replicate other techniques – and his link to the cursed spirit, Rika.
The grandchildren of Yuta have been introduced in a new spin-off manga. It would be compelling to delve into the events before Mojuro’s time and see how he influenced the Jujutsu world while Satoru Gojo was away, alongside Yuji, Megumi, and Sukuna. Furthermore, a series focusing on his time away from Jujutsu High-particularly his experiences in Africa with Miguel-would also be fascinating.
Toji Zenin
The Demon Of The Zenin Clan

Toji Zenin definitely left a huge mark on Jujutsu Kaisen. He’s remembered as one of the very few individuals who could actually win against Satoru Gojo in a fight, and he’s also Megumi Fushiguro’s father. Called the Sorcerer Killer, Toji was essentially molded into a perfect fighter because of the harsh treatment he received from the Zenin clan, stemming from his unique Heavenly Restriction ability.
An amazing story could be told about Toji‘s life after he left the Zenin clan and started working independently, building his fearsome reputation. The series could show just how dangerous a young and ambitious Toji was, and also depict how he met Megumi‘s mother and how their romance developed.
Yuki Tsukumo
The Rogue Jujutsu Sorcerer

Yuki Tsukumo is a mysterious character in Jujutsu Kaisen, and her impact will be truly felt in Season three with the Culling Games arc. As a special grade sorcerer, Yuki is exceptionally strong, but she isn’t affiliated with Jujutsu High or working towards their objectives.
Rather than follow a traditional path, Yuki wants to build a world without curses, driven by her experiences as a former Star Plasma Vessel. A story delving into Yuki’s background, the intricacies of who she is, and her refusal to be consumed by Master Tengen would be both compelling and full of action.
Kenjaku
The Mastermind Of Jujutsu Kaisen

Kenjaku is the hidden manipulator in Jujutsu Kaisen, secretly controlling events to achieve a grand scheme. He’s carefully engineered a series of situations designed to usher in a new age of cursed energy, and he’s using Itadori Yuji, Master Tengen, and even Ryomen Sukuna as pawns in his plan.
However, Kenjaku is an incredibly ancient sorcerer, and his long, corrupt history has made him an outcast for over a thousand years. A story that examines the wickedness of Kenjaku, while also revealing the origins of Jujutsu Sorcery, would be a compelling new direction for Gege Akutami’s original work.
Kokichi Muta
The Cursed Curse Sorcerer

Kochiki Muta was introduced in the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen as Mechamaruu, a type of robot. He controlled this robotic fighter from far away, and because of a special limitation called a heavenly restriction, he had to live in a very isolated and clean place.
Unlike Toji and Maki, Muta’s limitations resulted in a very frail and unhealthy body, but he gained the power to hold a limitless supply of cursed energy, accumulating it over seventeen years. Muta’s story ended suddenly following a series of betrayals. Still, a series exploring his struggles, and perhaps his connection with Miwa, would have been a compelling direction.
Jin Itadori
The Father of Sukuna’s Vessel

Although Jin Itadori wasn’t a major character in Jujutsu Kaisen, he’s still Yuji’s father, and that fact plays a crucial role in the story. As the Culling Game arc progressed, we learned as much about hidden truths as we did through battles, and it became apparent that Yuji’s birth involved some shady dealings.
I’ve been following the story, and it’s becoming clearer that Yuji’s father is a mystery, but definitely connected to Sukuna somehow. The narrative seems to be hinting at a deeper story involving Jin Itadori – perhaps he was knowingly involved with Kenjaku’s plans and a player in the world of curses. This could explain why Yuji’s grandfather really wanted him to be a good person – maybe his father wasn’t who everyone thought, and lived a secret, possibly villainous life. It’s a fascinating connection to explore.
Junpei
The Hopeful Hero of Jujutsu High

I still can’t believe the treatment Junpei got in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. It feels like a huge rug pull – they prominently featured him in the opening credits, even though they knew what was going to happen to him at the hands of Mahito. It was especially frustrating because Junpei really showed potential. He had a unique ability to control cursed spirits, and it was comparable to what Suguru Geto could do. Honestly, it was a real shame to see his story play out that way.
It’s hard to imagine what Junpei could have achieved if he’d been given the same opportunities as Itadori, Kugisaki, and Megumi as a first-year student at Jujutsu High. Sadly, his potential was cut short when Mahito transformed him into a transfigured human, ending his life too soon.
Ryomen Sukuna
The King Of Curses

Sukuna is a key antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen and is known for having some of the most compelling backstory details among all the characters. Considered the most powerful sorcerer ever, Sukuna caused widespread chaos during his time, dismissing anything that didn’t benefit him personally.
A story detailing Sukuna’s life – from his beginnings as a young, inexperienced sorcerer, through his rise as a powerful and cursed prodigy, and ultimately to his downfall and transformation into a curse – would be incredibly exciting. Given his history of over six hundred years, many fans would be eager to see this thrilling narrative unfold.
