I’m giving you a heads-up that this article is packed with spoilers. Be warned, it reveals major plot points from both the Demon Slayer movie and manga, and also contains spoilers for the Attack on Titan series. I still remember when Attack on Titan first came out in 2013 – it blew up *fast*! While the Attack on Titan story is incredible, honestly, what really hooked everyone at the beginning wasn’t the plot itself. It was how brutal it was! Attack on Titan was gruesome from the very beginning, especially with that shocking fall of the Wall, and it just kept escalating. What made it truly special was that no character was safe from death. Seriously, people were dying left and right throughout the entire series, and even after the Final War, a lot of the main cast didn’t make it, which was a huge impact.

When it comes to heartbreaking stories, Demon Slayer is now a strong contender alongside Attack on Titan. Although it begins with a less intense tone, it ultimately results in the deaths of most of the Hashira, characters that fans greatly adore. The Infinity Castle arc in Demon Slayer’s movies is shaping up to be incredibly sad for audiences, and the tragedy begins with Shinobu Kocho.

No Character is Safe in Attack On Titan, But Demon Slayer Has Been Delivering Even Better Deaths

Shinobu Kocho Is Killed in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

Attack on Titan is a shockingly violent anime that keeps viewers constantly worried about the characters’ safety. The world within the show is incredibly dangerous, and characters can die at any moment. This became clear right away when the walls were broken and Eren witnessed his mother’s horrific death. The situation only gets more intense as characters such as Marco and members of Levi’s squad are killed off relatively quickly. Despite this, when the war with Marley begins, the main characters don’t suffer *too* many losses. Most of the core cast, including characters like Mikasa, Armin, and Levi, manage to survive.

However, Demon Slayer is becoming increasingly violent as the story unfolds. While Rengoku was a significant character who died earlier, the upcoming Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 and the following episodes will likely see many more characters meet their end. In the first film of the trilogy, fans sadly witnessed the death of Shinobu, one of the Hashira. Her death was particularly shocking, but it will serve a purpose in the overall narrative.

Shinobu Is Dead, And More Demon Slayers Are About To Follow

I watched as Shinobu became the only significant character to die in the first part of the Infinity Castle story, but it felt like things were only going to get worse. With Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2, Kokushibo’s battle finally started, and it was heartbreaking to see Muichiro, the youngest Hashira, fall in such a brutal way. Sadly, Genya wouldn’t make it through this movie either. However, the most devastating part was yet to come. During the fight against Muzan, every Hashira would ultimately die, one by one, with only two remaining standing – Sanemi and Giyu.

It’s understandable why fans have grown to love the Hashira, and now, we’ll see them fall, leaving only a few characters alive. Demon Slayer is shaping up to have a moving, yet sad ending, and when it comes to the deaths of beloved characters, it has arguably surpassed even Attack on Titan in impact.
