The primary objective for all players in Hades 2 is defeating the Titan of Time, but it’s a significant challenge. Chronos won’t be defeated easily, and if you feel underprepared to finally beat him, it’s a good idea to gather some upgrade materials first.

Flux is a type of resource in Hades 2, and it’s surprisingly hard to find. It only appears in one specific location, and there’s no guarantee you’ll even encounter it during a playthrough. This guide explains where to find this resource and offers some tips on how to get more.

Where to Find Flux in Hades 2

Unlike most other useful items in the game, Flux isn’t found on the surface or in Erebus. Instead, Flux is located within the Realm of Chaos. You can reach it by discovering Chaos portals while exploring. However, entering these portals requires you to give up a small amount of health.

After going through a Chaos portal, you’ll need to search for outcroppings. Flux outcroppings appear as large rocks with bright crystals at their center. Unfortunately, there’s no way to be certain a Flux outcropping will be in every portal, so you might need to try entering several until you find one. Remember, you must first unlock the Crescent Pick before you can mine any outcropping.

How to Get More Flux Per Run

Here are a couple of things you can do to increase the amount of Flux you get in each run:

  • Get a Discovery Boon from Chaos. Preferably, get Success Rate from Hermes as well.
  • Use Raki, one of the familiars in Hades 2, and upgrade him to increase your odds of finding Outcroppings.

Realms of Chaos let you obtain Boons directly from the forces of Chaos. While these Boons always include a drawback – a curse that will hinder your progress – they aren’t permanent. The curse will lift once you fulfill the specific requirements outlined in each Boon.

What to Do With Flux

Flux is a crafting material, and like other resources, it’s used to activate Incantations and improve your weapon’s abilities. To obtain the Aspect of Nyx for the Black Coat, players require 4 Flux and 1 Darkness.

The Aspect of Nyx unlocks Omega Booster, a powerful Omega attack usable during your Sprint. To activate it, hold down your dodge or sprint button until the meter is full. This will inflict area damage to enemies when you hit them while moving. Crucially, after activating Omega Booster, your Attacks and Specials will split into two hits for 5 seconds.
