Finding the Reliquary of Compassion is the most difficult Reliquary challenge in Ghost of Yotei, and the tough winter environment only adds to the difficulty. The trek to reach it is risky and cold, so we’re here to guide you, much like the Wolf helps Atsu from time to time. Below, you’ll discover the exact location of the Reliquary of Compassion, and even better – to save you from the freezing weather – we’ll show you how to solve the Reliquary of Compassion, so you can focus on completing it instead of battling the cold.
Before you begin the Reliquary of Compassion, you’ll need the Hankyu Bow. You can buy it from Ran the Bowyer at the Old Inn for 300 Coins.
How to Find the Reliquary of Compassion in Ghost of Yotei
You can find the Reliquary of Compassion in Teshio Ridge, located far north in the snowy part of Ezo. Travel north until you reach Sarobetsu Lake, which is covered in blue ice. With your map open, go directly north and a little to the east, looking for a crack in the terrain where you’ll see a torii gate (pictured above). Follow the path starting from this gate across the mountain. Eventually, you’ll come to a fork in the road. To find the Reliquary of Compassion, you’ll need to take the left path. The path on the right leads to a Shrine. The video below shows you exactly where to go, so you don’t get lost – or worse – in the cold.
How to Solve the Reliquary of Compassion in Ghost of Yotei
First, you absolutely need to create fire, otherwise Atsu will succumb to the cold. We recommended the Hankyu Bow because you can’t solve this Reliquary of Compassion puzzle without it. Grab the fire arrows located to the left of the shrine, then equip the Bow using L2 and the Fire Arrows with Square. Next, you’ll notice each of the four statues has a small stack of wood at its base. Shoot this wood to melt the snow and keep Atsu warm. Once you’ve done that, read the inscription on the central altar – it contains a riddle:
The mountain took pity on the boy with no home
And lit her fire to keep the boy warm
The wolves gathered around, eyes on the mountain’s hearth
To solve the riddle, all 4 fox statues need to be positioned facing the central pillar. We have the solution right here, and it’s quite straightforward:
- Interact with the front left statue twice
- Interact with the back left statue twice
- Interact with the back right statue twice
- Interact with the front right statue twice
