One Piece Characters Who Can Beat Scopper Gaban

The Roger Pirates are considered one of the most fearsome pirate groups in One Piece. Gol D. Roger created the crew with the ambition of drastically changing the world. He was soon joined by powerful allies like Silvers Rayleigh, Scopper Gaban, Kozuki Oden, and numerous others. As a team, they became incredibly famous and were the first to successfully navigate the Grand Line not once, but twice.

Considering how fierce the competition was, the Roger Pirates had to be one step ahead. Luckily, nearly all of their crew were incredibly strong. During the events in Elbaf, One Piece fans witnessed the impressive power of Scopper Gaban. Despite his age, he easily defeated the Holy Knights. It’s clear that Gaban remains one of the top fighters, but a handful of characters are even more powerful.

Blackbeard

Affiliation: Blackbeard Pirates

  • Devil Fruit: Yes

Blackbeard is one of the Yonko and currently governs Hachinosu. He’s quickly become a top-ranking pirate. While his reasons aren’t fully known, it seems Blackbeard aims to achieve what his father desired. Another possibility is that he wants to return the Davy family to its previous prominence.

Blackbeard understood he needed to become more powerful to achieve his ambitions, so he sought out two incredibly strong Devil Fruits. By obtaining the Yami Yami no Mi and the Gura Gura no Mi, he believes he could defeat nearly any opponent in One Piece, even someone as formidable as Scopper Gaban. This combination would make him nearly unstoppable.

Shanks

Affiliation: Red Hair Pirates

  • Haki: Yes
  • Devil Fruit: No

When Shanks was a baby, the Roger Pirates discovered him. He remained with the crew until they broke up, because he greatly admired Roger. The Pirate King also gave Shanks his Straw Hat, demonstrating his strong faith in his protégé. Shanks later became a remarkable pirate, earning the respect of both his friends and rivals.

Shanks doesn’t possess a Devil Fruit, meaning he mainly uses Haki to defeat his enemies. He demonstrated advanced Haki skills, such as Divine Departure, even when he was young. Over time, Shanks has become even more skilled with his Haki, and is now considered the strongest character in One Piece.

Boa Hancock

Affiliation: Kuja Pirates

Boa Hancock leads the Kuja Pirates and is known as the Empress of Amazon Lily. Prior to the timeskip, she was a member of the Shichibukai, an offer she received soon after starting her adventures. The World Government immediately acknowledged her power and promptly extended the position to her.

Boa Hancock is a remarkably skilled fighter, proficient in at least two forms of Haki. She also wields Conqueror’s Haki, though it’s not certain if she has completely mastered it. Beyond her Haki abilities, Hancock has a very powerful Devil Fruit, allowing her to defeat even the strongest opponents. Given Gaban’s character, Hancock would easily be able to defeat him. Monkey D. Garp

Affiliation: Marines, World Government

  • Devil Fruit: No

Monkey D. Garp is known as the Hero of the Marines. He earned this title because of his actions at God Valley, where he defeated Davy D. Xebec with assistance from Roger. Even many years later, Garp is still incredibly powerful. During the Egghead Island arc, Garp showed just how strong he is. He managed to defeat Kuzan, despite Kuzan being much younger and possessing a Devil Fruit.

Garp possesses incredibly powerful Haki, demonstrated by his ability to obliterate an entire port. Years of rigorous training have made Garp physically much stronger than the majority of characters. His punches are capable of leveling mountains. Given that Garp was on par with Roger, it’s reasonable to conclude that the Vice Admiral is more powerful than Scopper Gaban. This showcases his immense strength and mastery of Haki.

Sakazuki

Affiliation: Marines, World Government

  • Devil Fruit: Yes

Sakazuki currently holds the highest rank in the Marines as Fleet Admiral. He achieved this promotion by defeating Kuzan in a battle on Punk Hazard. Since becoming Fleet Admiral, Sakazuki has implemented his own strong beliefs into the Marines, making them an even greater danger to pirates and other criminals.

Few can match Sakazuki’s strength. As the Fleet Admiral, he wields the Magu Magu no Mi, a powerful Logia-type Devil Fruit. This fruit grants him the ability to control magma, and it’s known for its incredible destructive potential. Because of this, Akainu’s attacks pose a significant threat to anyone he fights.

Monkey D. Dragon

Affiliation: Revolutionary Army

  • Haki: Yes
  • Devil Fruit: No

Monkey D. Dragon leads the Revolutionary Army as its Supreme Commander. He created this organization with the goal of overthrowing the World Government’s oppressive rule. To date, Dragon and his army have successfully removed numerous corrupt leaders, a feat achieved through their considerable power.

It’s hard to assess Dragon’s power because he hasn’t been seen in battle yet, but as the leader of the Revolutionary Army, he’s almost certainly a very skilled fighter. Many fans speculate that Dragon possesses either a Mythical Zoan or a Logia-type Devil Fruit. However, there’s currently no solid evidence to support these claims. Even without proof, it would be surprising if someone of Dragon’s stature were less powerful than Scopper Gaban. His strength is likely substantial.
