New Digimon Game Is Blowing Up on Steam

Shortly after its release, *Digimon Story: Time Stranger* attracted over 80,000 players on Steam, making it a very successful game in the *Digimon* series. This title continues the story from the 2015 game *Cyber Sleuth* and is playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Everyone anticipated that *Digimon Story: Time Stranger* would be a hit. This was confirmed when the developers, Media.Vision, cautioned that there might not be enough physical copies available at first because so many people wanted it. The game was also very popular on Steam wishlists, suggesting a strong launch.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger Becomes a Steam Best-Seller

As a huge Digimon fan, I was so excited to see *Digimon Story: Time Stranger* launch on Steam on October 2nd! It blew up almost immediately, becoming one of the top five highest-earning games and hitting nearly 85,000 players at the same time – that’s incredible for a Digimon game! To put that in perspective, the last game’s best version only peaked around 4,000 players, so this new release is doing about 2,000% better! And the reviews are fantastic – right now, *Time Stranger* has an 85% positive rating on Steam, which means it’s officially labeled as ‘Very Positive’! I’m so glad to see the series doing so well.

If you’re not familiar with it, *Digimon Story: Time Stranger* is a role-playing game where you collect monsters, battle using turns, and evolve them – much like in the popular *Pokemon* series. Fans are especially enjoying this game because of its detailed monster-taming and customization options, and the fact that it includes a huge variety of over 450 different digital creatures.

The launch of *Digimon Story: Time Stranger* has faced some criticism despite generally positive reviews. Many players on Steam enjoy the gameplay and consider it a top turn-based game this year. However, some accuse publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment of false advertising. They say the ‘Ultimate Edition’ was promoted as including all downloadable content, but it’s now missing items that are being sold as separate purchases.

If you’re interested in *Digimon Story: Time Stranger*, it’s available in three digital versions: Standard ($70), Deluxe ($100), and Ultimate (around $120). A physical Collector’s Edition is also available for waitlist sign-ups, costing approximately $200. This special edition includes physical items like figurines and digital extras such as episode packs.
