Dreamhaven’s studio, Moonshot Games, has unveiled its fresh, online multiplayer shooting game called Wildgate. Coming to Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC towards the end of this year, Wildgate is a team-oriented first-person shooter that combines Player versus Player (PvP) and Player versus Environment (PvE). In this game, players journey into a expansive region of space with the objective of seizing an ancient artifact called the Artifact.
In this game, you’ll find twenty-player contests divided into five groups of four. These teams venture into a region called The Reach, where they aim to seize an Artifact and successfully pass through the challenging barrier known as the Wildgate.

Each match might last between 20 and 50 minutes or more, depending on the map’s layout and encounters during exploration and combat. There are five prospectors to pick from, each with unique skills and equipment, and you can select one of these characters before boarding one of five ships, all with distinct specializations. The gameplay is flexible, allowing you and your team to decide whether to prioritize finding the Artifact swiftly and escaping or focusing on upgrading your ship to defeat others who are also seeking this rare treasure.
As I navigate through the thrilling expanse of the Reach, I’m constantly enhancing my ship, adding formidable weapons, robust shields, and more to ensure it endures the merciless conditions of this vast battlefield. Along the way, I stumble upon intriguing points of interest that yield valuable new gear to further bolster my chances for survival.
According to Jason Chayes, the lead at Moonshot Games, Wildgate was created for individuals who’ve dreamt of embarking on a thrilling space journey with a brave team. The game encourages players to collaborate and face evolving cosmic perils, be it the enigmatic dangers of the Reach or challenges posed by rival Prospectors.
It’s been noted that Wildgate is scheduled to debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in the year 2025. In anticipation of its launch, several playtests are being arranged for gamers to preview the game early. The initial playtest will occur from April 10th through the 14th, with registration open immediately.
