Oh, here we go again! 𤯠The Federal Reserveās Christopher J. Waller has officially declared Bitcoin ālike electronic gold,ā which is basically the financial worldās version of saying, āIām not sure what this is, but itās definitely not a scam⦠probably.ā š§ šø The asset, he claims, is a ānon-yielding store of valueā that relies on ācollective beliefā rather than, you know, actual cash flows. Because nothing says āinvestmentā like buying something because everyone else is doing it. š¤·āāļø
Bitcoin Is āLike Electronic Goldā
āLook, Iāve always said Bitcoin was going to end up being something like electronic gold. Itās a store of value. It promises no return. Itās just⦠you buy it and hold it for some appreciation. Thatās exactly what you do. Itās commodities like gold. Thatās it. Thereās nothing wrong with it. It has a positive price. It doesnāt have any fundamental value. I donāt think gold has really any fundamental value either,ā Waller said, as if heās explaining quantum physics to a toddler. š§ š¶
The āelectronic goldā analogy is so fresh, itās practically a new meme. Wallerās been on this train for ages, insisting that Bitcoin is less of a payment system and more of a āwealth-preservation vehicleā – which sounds like a fancy way of saying, āIām not sure what this is, but itās shiny.ā š©š
JUST IN: Fed Governor Waller says Bitcoin is ālike electronic gold.ā
– Bitcoin Archive (@BTC_Archive) October 21, 2025
Meanwhile, the Fed is busy trying to figure out how to handle digital assets, as if theyāre not the ones who accidentally created the whole mess. Wallerās comments also coincided with a āpayments-innovation agendaā that sounds more like a tech conference than a central bankās job description. š¤
And letās not forget Fed Chair Jerome Powell, who compared Bitcoin to gold in 2024, calling it āvirtual and digital.ā Because nothing says āfinancial stabilityā like a digital rock. šŖØš°
Together, these statements have basically made Bitcoin the financial worldās version of a cult – except instead of a leader, you have a blockchain. š§ š
At press time, BTC traded at $107,985. Because nothing says āvalueā like a number that changes every second. ššø
