In the upcoming Midnight update, World of Warcraft will allow players to transfer Apexis Crystals, Veiled Argunite, and Order Resources between characters. This change will happen with the release of the next expansion, or potentially a little before it launches, making these currencies freely tradable within a player’s account.
The Warbands system, introduced in World of Warcraft: The War Within with the pre-expansion patch on July 23, 2024, makes it easier to play multiple characters. It does this by letting you share things like reputation and gold across all your characters on one account, and by providing a shared bank for all of them.
Transfer Apexis Crystals, Veiled Argunite, and Order Resources in WoW: Midnight
It looks like World of Warcraft: Midnight is letting players share more currencies between their characters. Content creator MrGM recently found that Apexis Crystals, Veiled Argunite, and Order Resources are now marked as shareable within a player’s Warband in the latest alpha version of World of Warcraft. It’s unknown if there will be any fees or if the transfer will be a simple one-to-one exchange.
Apexis Crystals are used to buy things like gear, mounts, and companions from the Warlords of Draenor expansion. Veiled Argunite lets you purchase relics and gear from Thaumaturge Vashreen on the Vindicaar during the Legion expansion, as well as Draenei-themed items and a Hearthstone toy earned after unlocking Man’ari customization in WoW: Dragonflight. Finally, Order Resources power the Class Order Hall system and let you buy items from it, including new decorations coming in Midnight. Currently, you can transfer Order Resources using Order Resource Caches, but Midnight will make this transfer process much easier.
This feature was discovered in the early alpha version of Midnight, and it’s possible it will be released even before the full expansion. It might be included in the upcoming Patch 11.2.7, although it wasn’t officially announced. Another possibility is that it will launch with the World of Warcraft: Midnight pre-patch, currently expected around January 27, 2025, based on information found within the alpha version.
These currencies aren’t the only ones that will eventually be usable across your entire Warband in World of Warcraft. Blizzard plans to make most older currencies and reputations available to all characters within a Warband. It will likely take a long time to implement this fully, but it’s a good idea for players to start saving up these old currencies now in preparation for when Blizzard integrates them into the Warband system.
