Boruto: Kishimoto Confirms A Major Power-Up For Kawaki

This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Watching the latest arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex unfold, it’s clear the fight against the Shinju is really heating up, and things are about to get even more unpredictable. The Shinobi are facing a major uphill battle because the Shinju are unbelievably powerful. Everyone is pushing themselves to get stronger, knowing they’ll need all the power they can muster to stand a chance against these new, monstrous villains. It’s a scramble to level up, and it feels like anything could happen.

Recently in the Boruto storyline, Boruto Uzumaki received a power boost thanks to Kashin Koji, who provided him with advanced technology. To create a more even playing field, the creators, Kishimoto and Ikemoto, have decided to make Kawaki stronger as well. Kawaki is actively seeking more power, and it appears Amado will be the one to help him achieve it. After already enhancing Kawaki’s body, Amado plans to push his abilities even further, potentially to their absolute limit. This upgrade will undoubtedly make Kawaki significantly more powerful, but it will also come with serious consequences that the story will likely explore in future chapters.

Kawaki Will Get A Power Up From Amado

Kishimoto and Ikemoto Confirm A Major Kawaki Body Upgrade

  • Kawaki seeks more strength
  • New power to come at a big price

The latest arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex suggests that both Boruto and Kawaki are about to become much more powerful. It’s becoming increasingly clear that Kawaki will receive a significant power boost soon, and this is directly linked to Amado, the scientist who originally engineered Kawaki’s body after Jigen took him in.

Amado, I need you to enhance my physical strength. If you genuinely want my help with your daughter, then do it!

Konoha considered Kawaki’s body to be like a masterpiece created through science. Because of this, Amado can easily change Kawaki’s body, even adding or taking away restrictions on his power. We’ve already seen Amado switch Kawaki into a fully powered-up attack mode by removing those restrictions. However, Kawaki now wants even more power, as he feels his current abilities aren’t sufficient.

Kawaki realizes he needs significantly more strength to defeat Jura, enough to overcome Jura’s ability to heal quickly. While Amado doubts victory is possible, Kawaki is now formally requesting a power boost by threatening him. Essentially, Kawaki wants to increase his attacking power. With further enhancements, Kawaki’s overall attack strength will grow, potentially creating a version of him capable of challenging Jura.

I know Jura took damage from me. I just know it! I need more power. — Kawaki

The Consequences Of Kawaki’s Power Up Will Be Dire

Kawaki Risks Hurting Himself In Boruto

Kawaki is poised for a significant power increase in Boruto, and the creators are clearly building towards a crucial moment for his character. The emphasis on the dangers involved suggests this power-up will come at a great cost – the strain on his body will likely be severe. Currently, Kawaki is a volatile force, and it seems his own power may ultimately be his downfall, with little hope of intervention.

The next chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, chapter 28, will be released on November 20, 2025, at 10 AM Eastern Time / 3 PM Coordinated Universal Time. Fans can read it for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps when it becomes available.
