This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.
Watching the Elbaf arc of One Piece unfold has been a wild ride! It’s been non-stop action and huge reveals with each new chapter. Honestly, there hasn’t been a dull moment. Right now, the story is diving into Loki’s past, and we’re getting glimpses of the God Valley Incident – it’s been absolutely amazing to see everything come to light.
I just finished reading chapter 1163 of One Piece, focusing on God Valley, and it really showed off how incredibly powerful Imu is. For years, fans have been eager to see what Imu can actually do, and Oda delivered! We saw Imu use their ultimate move, Domi Reversi, on Rocks D. Xebec. It got me thinking – if that ability can affect someone as strong as Xebec, is there anything that can stop it? It seems like Luffy’s Nika fruit, and especially his Gear 5 form, might be the key.
Domi Reversi Is Overpowered, but Not Invincible
Luffy’s Gear 5 Might Be The Only Counter
Fans were eagerly waiting to see Imu appear in God Valley, especially since the Holy Knights were already there. Imu’s actions certainly lived up to the hype. Similar to what happened with Gunko in Elbaf, Imu possessed Saturn’s body and caused widespread destruction. In chapter 1163 of One Piece, Imu withstood an incredibly powerful combined attack from Rocks, Roger, Garp, Whitebeard, Kaido, and Linlin, and barely seemed affected.
I was really surprised to see Imu use Domi Reversi on Rocks D. Xebec, who is easily one of the strongest characters in One Piece – right up there with the Pirate King himself! It shocked a lot of fans to see someone like Xebec fall for that ability. It turns out Xebec is now Imu’s demon slave. It might seem like Domi Reversi is unbeatable, and that Imu can’t be defeated, but I don’t think that’s the case. I have a feeling Luffy’s Gear 5 might be the key to countering it.
Luffy possesses the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, a Devil Fruit that, when awakened, grants him the incredible Gear 5 form. This transformation essentially allows him to embody the Sun God, unleashing limitless imaginative power. It’s believed Luffy can even reverse the effects of Domi Reversi, likely because his abilities are the direct opposite of Imu’s. Where Luffy’s powers stem from happiness and freedom, Imu’s are rooted in oppression and suffering.
Could Domi Reversi Have Other Counters?
- Blackbeard’s Yami Yami No Mi Could Be Another One
- Very Advanced Conqueror’s Haki Might Reverse It
While Luffy’s Gear 5 seems like a direct answer to Imu’s abilities, Blackbeard’s Devil Fruit, the Yami Yami no Mi, could completely negate Imu’s power. As the strongest Logia-type Devil Fruit, and considering Blackbeard’s lineage as the son of Rocks, it might be crucial in overcoming Imu.
As a One Piece fan, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to beat Domi Reversi, and I think Conqueror’s Haki could be a key! A really strong user, someone incredibly skilled, might be able to prevent the transformation into a demon. But once someone’s already become one? That’s a much tougher ask. We saw with Joy Boy in Egghead that his Haki was powerful enough to negate Imu’s abilities, and that level of strength feels like it could definitely resist Domi Reversi altogether. It’s exciting to think about who might be able to pull that off!
The newest chapter of One Piece is coming out this week, as it typically does on Sundays. While it will be released in Japan at midnight on Monday (JST), most fans around the world will be able to read it on October 26th. The chapter will be available for free on Manga Plus.
