But it doesn’t stop there! This next book is bringing even more ways to customize your character, which is awesome.
In Dungeons & Dragons, subclasses let players customize their characters and create unique builds, offering a variety of options. For example, Fighters and Rogues can learn magic through subclasses like the Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster. Even classes already focused on magic use subclasses to create different playstyles, each with its own set of special spells. A recent report has revealed eight new subclasses coming in the next Dungeons & Dragons expansion.
Wizards of the Coast has announced eight new subclasses coming to the 2024 update of D&D, with the release of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun. The update includes the return of popular subclasses like the Knowledge Domain for Clerics and the Bladesinger Wizard, which combines spellcasting with close combat. Players will also find entirely new options, such as the Winter Walker Ranger, who uses the power of ice, and the Scion of the Three Rogues, who gains advantages from serving evil deities. Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun will be available starting November 11th.

The Spellfire Sorcerer also looks strong, with a unique ability to absorb spells as a bonus to already useful defensive magic like Counterspell.
Dungeons & Dragons is getting a lot of new content lately, and the latest addition is a brand-new expansion. Just last month, Wizards of the Coast released a 2024 Starter Set, which includes a ready-to-play adventure, maps, and a selection of character classes. They’ve also announced a new supplement that blends D&D with the world of Magic: The Gathering, set in the plane of Lorwyn, coming out next month.
