The toughest Tera Raids are back in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! After a four-month break, trainers can now challenge Hydreigon the Unrivaled. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have a limited time to find and battle Hydreigon in Tera Raid dens all across the Paldea region.
Hydreigon, often called the Brutal Pokemon, was introduced in Pokemon Black and White as one of the strongest Pokemon in the Unova region. It evolves from Deino and Zweilous and is typically a Dark and Dragon type. Hydreigon is well-known for being adaptable in competitive battles, thanks to its three heads and wide range of attacks. Normally, Fairy-type Pokemon like Sylveon and Tinkaton are strong against Hydreigon, but this won’t be true in the upcoming special Tera Raid battle.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hydreigon Tera Raid Details (November 2025)
A new challenge is coming to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! Starting Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 PM Eastern, players can battle a powerful Hydreigon in special Seven-Star Tera Raids. These raids will be available until Sunday, November 9th at 6:59 PM Eastern, and will return the following weekend, from November 13th to 16th, at the same times. This Hydreigon will be Poison-type and will reward players with the Mightiest Mark upon defeat. Hydreigon is a versatile attacker, strong in both special attack and physical attack, with moderate defenses. Despite Poison-types usually being weak to Ground-type moves, Hydreigon’s ability, Levitate, protects it from those attacks, including Earthquake.
As a Pokémon trainer, I’ve been prepping for the Hydreigon Tera Raid, and it’s proving tricky! While moves like Smack Down and Skill Swap can help, that’s just the beginning. It will be weak to Psychic-types, but Hydreigon can hit back hard with Dark-type moves like Crunch and Dark Pulse. Plus, it knows a ton of different attacks – Flamethrower, Earthquake, Surf, Dragon Pulse… it’s covering all its bases! Because of how versatile it is, I think we all need to wait until the Seven-Star raid actually starts before we can really figure out the best teams to take it down. It’s a Brutal Pokémon, and we need to see what it actually does in battle!
Even with the excitement around Pokemon Legends: Z-A, The Pokemon Company is still adding new content to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Players are now trying to figure out the best ways to defeat Hydreigon the Unrivaled.
