For example, the ‘Pinching the Pupa’ quest in Golden Ridge asks you to find a rare Mantisaur Pupa and deliver it to Fort Endurance. You can give it to either Biologist Bradford or Trooper Wentworth, but each choice has different consequences. Here’s a breakdown of what happens depending on who you choose.
What Happens If You Give the Pupa to Wentworth in The Outer Worlds 2?
If you return the pupa to Wentworth, you’ll find a group of Mantisaurs have followed you back to Fort Endurance. You’ll have to defeat them. After that, Wotjek, another Mantisaur, will simply eat the pupa, proving Wentworth’s claims are false and exposing him as a liar.
Even though this didn’t work out as planned, you’ll still receive Cleo’s The Hunt Shotgun, experience points for finishing the quest, 1,500 Bits, and an increase in reputation with Auntie’s Choice.
What Happens If You Give the Pupa to Bradford in The Outer Worlds 2?
Handing the pupa over to Bradford will earn you gratitude for prioritizing scientific progress. However, be prepared – a group of Mantisaurs has followed you back to Fort Endurance, and you’ll need to help defend it. Luckily, everyone will pitch in, making the battle manageable.
So, I finally took down Bradford and his whole operation, and the rewards were pretty sweet! I got Cleo’s Hunt Shotgun, a bunch of XP, 1,500 Bits, and even leveled up my rep with Auntie’s Choice by +3. Definitely worth it!
This quest doesn’t seem to affect the overall story. But, if you’re focused on playing your character, a character who is lawful good would likely return the pupa to Bradford.
Who Should You Give the Pupa to in The Outer Worlds 2?
Look, unless you’re feeling generous towards someone obviously up to no good and trying to grab power, you’re gonna want to hand that pupa over to Biologist Bradford. Trust me, it’s the right move.
No matter who you give the pupa to, you’ll always receive Cleo’s The Hunt shotgun, experience points, and crafting materials. However, giving the pupa to Bradford will earn you more reputation with Auntie’s Choice. If you intend to oppose Auntie’s Choice, this isn’t important, but if you’re still deciding, it’s best to stay on their good side and maximize your reputation with them.
