Embark Studios, the team behind ARC Raiders, is giving 500 free Tokens to players who were impacted by server issues yesterday. The game, a popular new extraction shooter, has seen high demand since launching last week, which unfortunately led to matchmaking problems and other server difficulties for players on PC and consoles.

It’s not surprising to see server problems with hugely popular online games, especially those that become viral sensations or offer a fresh experience. This has been the case with ARC Raiders, which, like Helldivers 2, struggled with server issues when it launched. ARC Raiders quickly gained over 350,000 players on Steam, putting it in the same category as Helldivers and making these initial server problems fairly predictable.

Embark Studios is giving 500 Raider Tokens to all players who tried to log in to ARC Raiders on Sunday, November 2nd, as an apology for the server problems. Even if you weren’t heavily impacted by the connection issues, you’ll still receive the bonus. The tokens are being distributed today, November 3rd, according to the game’s Discord server.

Raider Tokens are the premium currency in ARC Raiders, similar to how V-Bucks work in Fortnite. Some players have criticized their inclusion in a $40 game, calling it unfair. However, most of the ARC Raiders community now sees these tokens as a common part of how live-service games operate.

Regardless of what you think about Raider Tokens, earning 500 of them is useful in the game. They’re worth $5 and can be used to buy things like the Mohawk haircut or a Buff Rock skin for Scrappy.
