When the game Resident Evil Requiem launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, players will have the option to purchase a special edition Pro Controller. However, it will be quite pricey. Nintendo and the Resident Evil series have a history together – the popular RE4 originally came out exclusively for the GameCube and even had a limited-edition controller made for it. While Resident Evil Requiem won’t be exclusive to the Switch 2, it will be getting a unique, and somewhat expensive, accessory for the console.

Despite some complaints about its price, Nintendo’s newest console is proving to be incredibly popular. By September 2025, the Switch 2 had already sold over 2 million units in Japan and more than 7 million worldwide. With a promising lineup of games on the horizon, sales are expected to continue rising, though some related merchandise and add-ons might be quite expensive for fans.
Resident Evil Requiem Is Getting a $100 Switch 2 Pro Controller
As a huge Resident Evil fan, I was so excited to see Nintendo and Capcom announce a special Resident Evil Requiem Pro Controller! It’s a bit pricey at $99.99, but it’s coming out on February 27, 2026 – the same day Requiem and a couple of other Resident Evil games launch on the Switch 2. I tried to snag one from Nintendo’s US store right away, but it’s already sold out! Luckily, it looks like fans in other regions might still be able to pre-order directly from Nintendo, and Best Buy still has US pre-orders open as of today.

The Requiem Pro Controller isn’t the priciest gamepad available, but its price is notable considering Nintendo increased the cost of the Switch 2 Pro Controller before the console even launched, citing market changes. Currently, the standard Switch Pro Controller costs $89.99 at the My Nintendo Store, which is higher than the price of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense and the Xbox Wireless Controller.
In late 2026, Resident Evil Requiem will receive Amiibo figures, though Capcom and Nintendo haven’t shown what they’ll look like yet. Amiibos have become more expensive with the release of the Switch 2, and the price of the Requiem figures is currently unknown. These are expected to launch in Summer 2026, so fans should watch for updates in the coming months.
