16 Big Switch 2 Games Coming Soon

Nintendo recently shared its financial results, revealing plans for ten new first-party games and six from other developers, all coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 has been incredibly popular, with over 10 million units sold so far, prompting Nintendo to increase its sales predictions for the console.

The quality of a video game console depends on its games, and Nintendo ensured the Switch 2 launched with several big titles. The console’s main launch game was the popular Mario Kart World, and it was soon followed by the expansive 3D adventure Donkey Kong Bananza. Two more games exclusive to the Switch 2 are coming out this month, with many other highly anticipated first-party titles planned for release.

Nintendo has revealed some of the first games coming to the Switch 2. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be available on November 6th, followed by Kirby Air Riders on November 20th. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, a game playable on both older and newer consoles, will launch on December 4th with significant graphical and performance upgrades for the Switch 2. And fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be happy to hear it’s coming to the Switch 2 on January 15, 2026.

  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – 2026
  • Splatoon Raiders – TBA

Nintendo has planned a solid lineup of first-party games for the Switch 2 in early 2026. Mario Tennis Fever is scheduled to release on February 12th, and the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be available in the spring. Players can also expect Yoshi and the Mysterious Book to launch during the spring season.

Several exciting games are planned for release in 2026, including the unique blend of Pokemon and Minecraft called Pokemon Pokopia, and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. However, neither of these has a firm release date yet. Nintendo also showcased a single-player Splatoon game called Splatoon Raiders, but its release is currently listed as “TBA”. While it’s expected to launch on the Switch 2 in 2026, the “TBA” status means it could potentially be delayed until 2027.

Nintendo’s financial report also highlighted upcoming games from other companies for the Switch 2. Players can look forward to titles like Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, remakes of Dragon Quest 7 and Yakuza 3, as well as Resident Evil Requiem, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, and The Duskbloods, all scheduled for release soon.

Major Upcoming Switch 2 Third-Party Games

  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade – January 22, 2026
  • Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined – February 5, 2026
  • Resident Evil Requiem – February 27, 2026
  • Yakuza Kiwami 3 – 2026
  • Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition – 2026
  • The Duskbloods – 2026

The Nintendo Switch 2 had a great start with lots of support from other game companies, and that trend will continue into 2026. One of the biggest games coming next year is The Duskbloods, a new title from FromSoftware. This is Hidetaka Miyazaki’s first game since Elden Ring, and it appears to be a multiplayer version of Bloodborne. What’s more, it will be released only on the Nintendo Switch 2.

We still don’t know everything about the games coming to the Switch 2 in 2026. While the first three months of the year have been planned out, we haven’t heard what to expect in the summer or fall. Nintendo will likely share more details during their Nintendo Direct presentations next year. Fans should also watch The Game Awards on December 11th, just in case there are any Switch 2 surprises, and be sure to circle February 27th – that’s when the next generation of Pokemon games are expected to be announced.
