Rockstar Games recently fired about thirty employees, alleging they were involved in leaking information and having unauthorized discussions about the making of GTA 6. However, those who were fired believe they were actually let go for trying to form a union.
Workers’ union IWGB is holding a protest today outside Take-Two’s London office, starting at 8 AM UK time, as an act of defiance.
All You Had to Do Was Follow The Law
The IWGB Union posted a video online explaining that Rockstar Games had acted unfairly towards employees who were fired for trying to form a union.
Rockstar Games, the company behind Grand Theft Auto, has taken a troubling step by firing over 30 employees who were members of the IWGB Union. This appears to be a clear attempt to discourage union activity and intimidate staff, as there’s no other apparent reason for the dismissals.
Honestly, this isn’t just against the law, it feels like a real slap in the face to workers and everyone’s quality of life. It’s just wrong on so many levels.
Rather than prioritizing the development of the highly anticipated GTA 6, Rockstar has reportedly engaged in practices resembling those of the villains in their own games – specifically, violating labor laws and letting go of dedicated employees who were working on the game. This has disappointed both the workers affected and fans eagerly awaiting the release.
The IWGB union is holding a protest this morning outside Take-Two’s London office in response to recent events.

I’m absolutely furious! Rockstar Games fired over 30 members of the IWGB Union just for trying to organize – it’s a really awful attack on the people who make the games we love. As a fan, I’m standing with those workers and demanding Rockstar reinstate them. I’m planning to join a protest to show my support – it’s happening at Take-Two House, 30 Cleveland St, London, this Thursday, November 6th, at 8:00 AM. These developers put so much passion into their work, and now it’s our turn to have their backs! #RockstarGames #UnionBusting #WorkersRights #gta6 #IWGB

So, I’ve been following this drama, and apparently some people got fired for leaking info about GTA 6 on some online forum. But it’s kinda weird – everyone who got the axe also happens to be in the IWGB Union. It feels like more than just a coincidence, you know?
Social media users have reacted in different ways to the news. Some believe the fired employees were at fault, while others are encouraging them to take legal action, either individually or as a group, against Rockstar Games and Take-Two.
Whatever the reason, the IWGB protest will go ahead this morning in London.
